There is absolutely nothing bad to say about Dr. Leder. He is incredibly straightforward - get the books, read them, and write two in-class essays. He will have you volunteer to present over certain articles, so really you only need to study those articles closely - they're very informal presentations. He wants you to do well and grades lightly.

One of the most inspirational professors I have ever had. I took his class on the Holocaust and it completely changed my perspective on history and humanity. He is very passionate and one of the most knowledgeable professors I've ever had. There is work involved, but as long as you participate and keep up with the readings you'll ace the class.

Professor Leder is very humble and very kind. I had to be absent one time because my son got sick and he didn't count that absence against me. On another occasion I had to bring my kid to class and he was very understanding of my situation again. I learned a lot about political ides in his class given we read Thucydides and Machavelli.

Very clear and organized on what he wants from you in the class. He has a lot of passion for his work, so he makes sure his students understand the material. Make sure to attend class because he will take points if you miss more than three times. Favorite Political Science professor I had.

Dr. Leder is a fantastic teacher. Sure, for every class he teaches, there is a litany of books to acquire. Though you may not use all of them, they are all important reads. Beyond his teaching, Dr. Leder is a wonderful person with a fascinating background. If you take him, get to know him, as he's had an incredibly interesting life.

This class was very interesting! Leder is very repetitive but it pays off during exam time! Out of the books required, we only used the Holy Koran.

Dr. Leder is one of my favorite professors at Texas State. He is the nicest old man and one of the most humble individuals I have ever met. He know a massive amount about Islam and the middle east, but he is patient with those of us that know absolutely nothing about it but are eager to learn. If you have the opportunity, TAKE HIM!

Leder's class is by far the most enjoyable that I've had. He is a wonderful guy who is very passionate about this subject. Attendance is very important in this class (you don't want to fall behind on the material). The work load is minimal. The tests are simple if you keep up with the class. I highly recommend this professor.

Leder is so nice but his jokes drag on a bit much sometimes. His class is fair as far as easiness for the subject however NOTHING ties in with the modern world. Completely irrelevant but he is pretty straight forward (and repetative) about what you need to know. Dont know what other teachers are like but you can get through it with ease.

Very enthusiastic teacher, repeatitive a little bit. Study your notes and be prepared for essay questions in very little time for tests. Pretty easy teacher, but loves to see others get excited about Thucydides and Machiavelli. Enjoy the class and SHOW UP.

Great class. Dr. Leder is a great teacher, very funny and approachable. Class might seem intimidating through the first two weeks but don't be scared, it's much easier than it appears to be. All POSI majors/minors need this class, so take Dr. Leder. You won't regret it. Also, his TA is pretty good lookin' too, which is always a plus.

Really nice and easy going. Seminar format so participation in discussions is necessary. A bit disorganized and on the first day might feel uncertainty however by the end of the semester, you will feel you made the right choice. No textbook. A lot of reading of articles, journals, etc.

Goofy old man but he is great. Interesting lectures, interesting reading, test are no problem if you study. Don't worry about what you see on the syllabus, you only get through half of it so don't go buying all the books (at least for 3300). Just go to class and pay attention (notes are not really that necessary) and you'll be good
