Professor Pate is a teacher who rests on her laurels. Apparently, as she mentions constantly, she went to Cornell. Unfortunately, she bring nothing new or interesting to the creative world.

Some of her assignments were unclear and she is a very hard grader. The class I took wasn't GE, so it's really only for minors and majors. She doesn't show favoritism though which is nice. She just grades everyone hard. You can tell she had some wild times back in the day though...

Sue is an extremely sweet woman. I really enjoyed her movement class; however, she is a very hard grader. I'm not a dancer, but at least I gave it my best shot. Still, I never got an A on anything. Take the class for a good time, but don't be suprised if you do all the assignments and show up for class everyday and still get only a B or a C.

I LOOOOOVEEEDD this class! Before this class I was soo scared to talk in front of people, but after this class I have no prolem at all doing so. She is such a nice teacher and truly cares that her students understand acting. I am a liberal studies major and I know her class will be very helpful. TAKE HER CLASS!!! EVEN FOR FUN!!!

this teacher is totally rude, easily distracted and expected way too much of you for being a general education class. i dropped her FAST. she is soooo rude and her exercises are pointless. she took up almost two classes reading her 6 page sylabus

GREAT TEACHER! I learned a lot in the field of performance taking her class. She expects A LOT of work-the most work I've done in ANY theatre class but she's also really available to help you out. She's super busy but is willing to work with YOU on a meeting time. Real sweet and real understanding of personal problems. One of the best classes!

Sue is a sweet little woman, but not the best teacher. She doesn't teach anything new, just recycles old crap that she's been doing since she started teaching. I adore her as a person, but as a teacher she left a lot to be desired. At least she let us be creative in personal assignments, but her choreography is horrible and dated.

I had Sue Pape as a professor for various musical theater classes. She is always well prepared and lives by her syllabus. Be warned that Sue expects high quality work from her students, so if you are not willing to go that extra mile find another professor

I don't believe I've ever had a teacher that had her own clique in class, or a creative arts teacher who was so uncreative. Her plays are awful and narrowly construed. You can show up and work hard all you want, but if you don't pray the same way...

Sue does not play favorites. She is is an extremely nice and helpful person. Her class is fun but you also have to try and not just expect a good grade from showing up. DO the reading, try in class, and don't be afraid to ask her questions. You'll be fine.

Look, every professor has their favorites, especially with students who exceed in their interests. If you felt misjudged or unfairly treated you obviously didn't take the time to go talk to her. She's warm, understanding, and despite the fact that she's a dedicated Christian, she wan't ALWAYS that way...Sue Rocks

All those who wrote good ratings for her were people she liked. If she doesn't like you, she's one of the worst teachers ever. She tends not to like you if you don't just agree with whatever she thinks. Brings too much of her personal life (e.g. religion, etc.) to class; tries to convert you. SUCKS!

Her classes suck; she plays favorites -- if you're Christian, it'll really help you out in class; if not, you'll have to work extra hard, and you still may get screwed -- and she's not very sympathetic. Every class I've had to take with her has felt like wasted time; I've learned more from playdough

She definitely has her favorites. If you're not a dancer or a Christian, don't expect to be liked too much. In THEA 60 just being a THEA major gives you a big boost though. Don't use "foul" language in class or you're really screwed.
