I have probably learned the most from Barry out of all of my professors at CC. You just have to get over his attitude and your own ego and not take things to personally. He takes a while to grade papers, but always includes a page of comments at the end. He is so passionate/knowledgeable about what he teaches (which is why he tends to lecture)

Comment:

Barry is an great teacher. He likes to lecture more than facilitating discussion though which is different than most English classes at CC. He doesn't care for stroking the egos of his students though, so if you're a sensitive or uptight student, he'll sense that and mess with you (I think just for his own enjoyment). I loved Lit Theory with him.

Possibly the worst professor I have ever had. Not knowledgeable of the subject, slow grader, has absolutely no ability to offer constructive criticism. He is unprofessional and pretentious. Never take a class from him.

Intro to Lit Theory: I have never hated a class at CC before this one. I struggled to learn very difficult material with no aid from him. I hated every moment of this class and wish I had dropped it and taken it another block with another professor.

Pretentious man, who was repeatedly tardy with grades. His flare for drama was a huge minus in his class; his behavior and comments directed at students were unprofessional and embarrassing (for him). Learned very little in class and want my money back. Think he needs to find a different profession.

I guess he's an OK teacher, but he is a very unpleasant man. He was mean to students, he was cocky, and he took forever to grade anything. I had to wait 4 blocks to get my grade and it was a c+, so I couldnt even dispute it becuase it had been so long. I think he should retire or something, he sucks.

took his class 7th block, and he still hasn't submitted my grade, it's almost september. Annoying. He was kind of interesting but he was also kind of scary. Also, i hated screening movies every single day during the warm spring
