Comment:

Professor Littlefield was overall a pretty nice guy. Laid back and relaxed about a lot of things. He can be vague and confusing with his instructions and criticism. He's very much an abstract art teacher which makes it kind of hard when you want to learn traditional drawing techniques. It's not his fault but I felt the class was too long.

Comment:

Brian's a great guy. I'd recommend taking his printmaking class. He's super sweet and always means well. I've never seen the man angry, and I do respect his ability to create. I have also taken a painting class with him and he was always caring even when it came to those who hadn't grasped oil painting.

Does not teach. Will not provide examples or even explain what he expects. It was very subjective, he does not give you grades during the semester other than a mid semester report written on a sticky note. He is rude, a poor communicator and and by far the worse teacher I have ever had.

All these reviews made me mortified to take this class but Brian is a ray of a SUNSHINE! He's the sweetest man, he offers good feedback and he'll always make an effort to put a smile on everyone's face when you're feeling down. Everyone needs to relax over here

Great teacher. Better friend. Phenomenal instructor. Hilarious. Beautiful. I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day. When it's cold outside, I've got the month of May. I guess, that you would say, what could make me feel this way? Brian. Brian. Brian. I'm talking about, Brian Littlefield.

TERRIBLE professor. Took an oil painting course with him and learned nothing from him as he is extremely subjective. Despite being a strong student, he handed me my mid-semester grade written in sharpie on a blank piece of paper and said, "I don't give out A's." Told me he hated my painting. Never got my art back over the summer.

When I was in a different class, he came into the room with my classes drawings, threw them in the drawer and said "ugh I hate all of these". He's just rude.

He is the absolute worst art teacher I have ever had. He restricts creativity and only allows art to be done his way. He does not allow freedom of style or medium, is rude in critiques and never gives any positive feedback. Also, he is very unclear on his expectations and assignments and is unable to show an example of what he is looking for.

This professor will be your favorite college "Art Teacher". I still keep in touch with all of mine, received my Bachelors in Fine Art from Emmanuel College. I do not contact this art department everyone here was very ignorant. Brian Littlefield was great though. He was sincere with feedback and respectful to students.

He straight-up told me that nobody ever gets an A in the class, despite grading based of progress. Laughed in my face when I told him I'm aiming for Dean's List, said I won't get it because of this class.

Comment:

This teacher does not know how to properly deliver criticism. All he says is negative without an ounce of postivity to is. Also, he claims that he is passionate about drawing but he limits students to the medium that he prefers. In addition, he doesn't make students want to draw, he just makes them dread going to his class every time.
