Comment:

Professor Fenn is a sweet old lady, however she is not a good professor. In class she is disorganized and simply writes practice problems on the board without actually teaching the information beforehand. The tests are more based off of concepts instead of the actual mathematical equations that she only taught us. If you can avoid at ALL costs!

Carol Fenn is the best. During this pandemic, she made the class very accessible and easy to comprehend. She is always available by email or through the discussion boards. There are 3 tests, a few quizzes, and a final. I would definitely recommend her to others.

Fenn is absolutely amazing! She genuinely cares about her students and their success. If you ever have a question she will not stop until she answers it and you understand. I loved her so much that I decided to take her again for CHE111! She is lecture heavy and does go a fairly fast.

Fenn is amazing! She genuinely cares about her students' success and will not continue in the material until every person in the class has a firm understanding of what is going on. She makes chemistry fun (which is hard to do). If you have the chance, definitely take her!

Gives multiple in class examples until most people understand what's going on. Will try her best to answer any questions you may have. You will need to actually do the homework and study to do well, but she tries to make her notes as clear as possible.

She does not know how to organise her notes, if you were to look at the board halfway through you would be completely confused. Not to mention, she does not ever move out of the way of the board, if there is a chance of good info on the board you 100% wouldn't be able to see it. She gives no time for in class examples to be independently.

Prof. Fenn is very smart, but she talks really fast in class and moves very quickly. Does not use powerpoint, only lectures and writes on the board every class. 3 tests, 1 final and a few quizzes. quizzes are hard and exams are fair. A few homework assignments throughout the semester.

Chemistry will always be hard when you don't have much background in it. Prof. Fenn does not help out very much. She is a very smart woman and can be good at explaining some topics, but she acts like everything is easy and everyone understands all the time. Also, be ready for her to get sidetracked, because she gets distracted very easily.

Prof. Fenn is such an amazing person and she really cares for all of her students well being before anything else. She does talk fast but she draws everything out on the board for you to copy down. Gives mostly optional (sometime mandatory questions) outside of class that you should definitely do. 3 tests, few quizzes, 1 final.

Professor Fenn is a good professor for CHE 111. Although she talks really fast and likes to move at a good pace, she explains each concept through examples and assigns homework problems in the text and workbook that align perfectly with the test. You definitely need to study outside of class and do the problems but great professor. Recommend!

was not a problem for 110, but don't take for 111. awful. grades tests weirdly, not very helpful. nice lady but she moves so fast & does not budge. won't do any extra credit like other teachers, dean of chemistry so she makes it way too difficult. AVOID

Had for 110 and 111. 110 was much easier if you have previous chem background. as for 111, i suggest a diff teacher unless you can keep up. very fast paced class and difficult to underdstand at times. quizzes are easy-ish and tests are rough. you need to really study for them. nice woman, but isn't helpful sometimes.

Dr. Fenn is an awesome teacher. She gives three tests and five quizzes and drops the lowest quiz. She's a really good teacher, i was intimidated by her at first but she knows what she's talking about and makes you feel comfortable with the material. Take her!

Definitely my favorite professor. I am a chem major so her concepts came more easily to me than other students. I would say you definitely need a background in chem before taking her class (I took 2 years of it in high school so this class is like a review for me). Very sweet lady, loves to make her students laugh. Would DEFINITELY recommend

She is very nice and helpful, but the material is so hard that yo have to study for her tests for a very long time. Try to take someone else as a first choice as fenn expects you to know everything
