His retirement marks a loss to the University. Sure, he seems dry, but this class actually became the highlight of my week by mid-semester. If you take good notes, the study guides are easy, and if you do the study guides the tests are easy. I'm truly sorry that you can't have him.

His class is unbelievably boring and his exams seem impossible. However, put your best effort forward--he takes everything into consideration when determining your final grade. There is also a huge curve at the end of the semester, so you'll do a lot better than you think.

Class is extremely boring. No interaction in class. He does all the talking (non-stop from start to end). Not an good instructor. Very knowledgeable himself, but cannot communicate that effectively to the students, grading is unfair. Class could be more interesting if it was NOT like listening to a 1.15 hrs recording every day you are in his class.

Dr. Leathers is a very good teacher, and he also very helpful before tests. He gives you a study guide that is a basis of the test. His lectures are no questions, and a little confusing, but if you show some interest in the class you will do fine

Dr. Leathers class is interesting. He is funny and really wants you to do well. I have gone to his office hours before both tests, and he will go over whatever you need him to. I really liked this class!

This class was great. At first it seemed he was boring, but once you start paying attention to what he's saying, his jokes are funny, and his information is interesting. He really understands the material and can make sure you do, too. Going to class is important, but it is in every class. Try not to let his monotone fool you. He's interesting.

Awesome teacher. Simply brilliant. Dr. Leathers is extremely helpful and knowledgeable in his field. If you can get through his dry jokes and marathon lectures, you will be golden. His tests do require thorough knowledge of the material (essay tests) so be sure to take notes!! Overall, if you are willing to study and wish to learn - take his class.

brilliant! super easy. one of the best I've ever had. Many commented that his lectures are boring. thats true, but if you go to class and study with his study guide, you will make an A. 6 people in my class of 30 are getting an A+ in the course. no homework. funny when he does crack a joke. If you go an see him in office hours, he will like you.

Leathers is good but tough. He speaks in monotone. It's incredible- even he makes jokes in monotone (though the jokes are relatively funny). But he explains things perfectly, every time. If you can concentrate on his words despite the monotone, you will understand economics flawlessly and also be well prepared for tests. Also helpful in office hrs.

Dr. Leathers has been one of my favorite professors to date. I've found that people either love him or hate him. I think if you just attend class, take notes, and put in effort, you'll do well. He pays attention to those who work hard. I recommend taking him and dropping by his office every now and then. He's a very interesting person to listen to!

I took the honors section of this class- it was very challenging, but Dr. Leathers is extremely clear and always available for help outside of class. If you have consistent attendance and show effort in the class, he will take that into consideration in your final grade. The book is pretty good to review before tests.

I took the honors section of 111 with Dr. Leathers and found it to be very challenging, but also very informative. Dr. Leathers is very helpful and is always available outside of class. He is a good professor and knows his stuff. He is a little boring but everything he says makes sense. He take absolutely everything into account when giving you your grade. So go to class, dont be late, turn off your phone, and ask him questions. Also, you CANNOT memorize you have to understand the material!
