Dr. Cristina is a great professor. She knows her stuff, and she knows how to teach it. Classes are challenging, but all the instructions for the assignments are available. The instructions are illustrated step-by-step, so follow them, and you will be fine. Don't, and you won't. PARTICIPATE IN DISCUSSION if you want a passing grade.

Participation points are extremely important, if you don't like talking during class discussions you shouldn't take this class. The assignment instructions aren't very clear and the instructor does not offer any explanation when you ask questions. Grading is tough and the breakdown is not always explained.

Forum post with 3 responses due each week. 2 extremely short essays to do. The final is to submit a 4 slide powerpoint. Txtbook is necessary for forum posts, papers and final. Community Service is optional. You could finish this class over 1 week if all materials were posted day 1.

Extremely challenging. Everyday readings 3-5. Say something about the readings or its points taken. Class everyday and be on time or points off. If you miss an assignment say goodbye A'. If you want to learn take her. But if you want a good grade BEWARE. I worked my ass off for and I got a FAIL. comments you missed a two reflections and a journal.

The BEST Professor that I have taken; she's very intelligent and top-notch, therefore, expect to work hard; no book required for this class, but provides online articles - you must read before class; she can appear intimidating at first, but she is very nice - she cares about the students learning and goes out of her way to teach this class.

Dr. Cristina is the right person in the right place to help working students. Her class was very fair, and she made a deeply concerted effort to ensure students were fit to succeed beyond Cal State Los Angeles. The bar is set high in Dr. Cristina's class, but she is there to help you help yourself grow to succeed. Excellent professor.

Her classes can be very interesting but be prepared to work hard for that "A." She appears to be threatened by those who do not agree with her. Always remember that she is your professor, she is NOT your friend.

Professor Bodinger is excellent at inspiring you with the curriculum that she presents for this class. The title of the class says it all "Dynamics of Poverty." This was very interesting, beneficial educationally, and inspirational. The work was worth every bit.

This is a great teacher. You can tell she loves what she's doing, and loves sociology. She learns from her students, if everyone does bad on a test, she blames herself, and asks how she could handle it differently. I think she's terrific.
