Professor McArthur is an enthusiastic and effective teacher. Im hoping to take another class with him again next semester. He does not have very much patience for students who are just taking up space or who are texting during class discussion. For students who are attentive and in engaged he is great.

If you enjoy unconstructive criticism, disorganization, and responding to an overwhelmingly negative attitude every class period then you will love Damon McArthur. My guess if you don't enjoy any of these things, and my advice is to avoid this professor AT ALL COSTS. Take your drawing classes with Jan Clough!

Clear syllabus and class schedule, which were followed exactly. Three exams, one 4 pg paper (double spaced), and 60 pts for attendence (up to 3 absences). Nice prof, tried to get us out of the classroom whenever possible to see demonstrations of art being made. You will have to study to get an A, but the material isn't difficult.

he is so sad, he will constantly change his words about projects, assignments, and fye requirements.......he also like to make examples of students, make assumptions about them, he also does not know how to give a lecture, is CONSTANTLY forgetting the words he means, "well, i don't know what it is but,...." he must have got his degree from crayola.

This teacher is the worst teacher I've ever had. He is very stingy when it comes to extra credit. You get .25% extra credit for something and he constantly makes fun of students art work!! Save yourself alot of aggrevation and DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!

This teacher was the worst teacher I have ever had. He looks like the nerd from Revenge of the Nerds and he thinks he is the best teacher in the world. Hes annoying and full of himself. Class is boring as hell and we watch really boring movies. DO NOT take this class, worse teacher so far!

Damon knows more about art than most professors in the department. People who don't like him are just lazy infants who want an "A" for showing up and never want to do anything but the same lame stuff they have always done. If you really want to learn - take Damon. Period.

Dont let the good ratings fool you, if you are good at art do not take him because he will belittle you and critisize your work more than the people who REALLY need help. I had him a few semesters ago and thank God I dont have to deal with him again.

Damon is demanding because he treats you like a real artist and he respects students who are willing to work hard and earn a good grade. If you really want to learn about drawing and painting, take Damon - he'll teach you more in one class than those other, easy professors will teach you in a semester!
