CALC 2 is just one of those difficult subjects in math that's easy to feel very burnt out by the end of it.. so IDK why SCC thought it was a good idea to have a 2 hour & 15 minute lecture at night?! The material is slightly difficult to grasp, but the concepts are straight forward and could be practiced at home. The class is a HUGE waste of time.

For TRIG. This is the hardest class I have ever taken. She will find a way to dock points on everything, it seems impossible to pass tests. Forget partial credit..I honestly feel so dumb in this class, even though I feel like I know the material, there are way better professors out there, avoid if you want to save your GPA!

Let's just say that I took College Algebra in high school and I often got confused on the way she taught. Also she took off 0.1 of a point because I didn't use "Proper notation" meaning I didn't write f(x). Like.... I'm a little salty.

She was the worst decision I made at SCC. I put in so much work and I barely passed the class. She also is very restrictive as far as your method of solving problems goes. It's either her way or you don't get credit for it. She isn't receptive to questions and not helpful to the students who need extra help. Please save yourself and don't take her.

Professor Woodrum is an excellent teacher. She explains things differently than the textbook because the textbook way is even harder than her explanations. However, she is a VERY FAST teacher and she most certainly does not grade for completion. Never expect a 100% on a homework assignment because she WILL find something wrong.

Where do I start? She really is a nice woman. But the her way or the highway thing is REDICULOUS! THE BOOK says one thing; you have to do it HER WAY. THATS right you practice on ALEKS one way and if you do it the book way-NO CREDIT. VERY HARD ON HOMEWORK. make sure every t is crossed. When you have the right answer shell FIND SOMETHING! AVOID

Never take her class! Its all about the 'Woodrum" method. be prepared for unorganized lectures. A book and online course is a requirement and all she tells you is to "not do it the way the book teaches you".Online and outside tutoring won't help. Even if you get the right answer, you will get no credit. Spent 18 hours outside of class barley passed

Comment:

Limits the possibility of learning outside of class. I spent over 15 hours a week on her class, but I couldn't even pass. I have taken this course before and excelled, but this class was designed to fail. She will help you out when you need it, but the work load is unreasonable. She is a subjective grader, and picky about every detail. Don't take.

Rather than just grading homework on completion, Professor Woodrum will check every problem and provide helpful feedback. She is readily available for discussing difficult concepts outside of class and her informal manner makes it easy to peel away the usual mathematical jargon. ALEKS assignments are frustrating due to the amount of work involved.

Extremely tough grader. Only wants you to learn and practice things her way even though there are easier ways to do it. Makes you complete an entire online course & purchase the code for it. No way to get any points back, extra credit, or grading on a curve. Half of my class dropped out. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Likes to do her lecturing her own way. There has been a few times where her "way" isnt the same as shown in the book. Other than that if you put effort in the class and ask any question for any doubt you might have then you might have a chance at passing. Dont expect it to be easy and give it your all.

This was the worst math class i have taken in my life. She is the worst grader in the history of Trig. Trig is hard, she makes it impossible. On homework and tests, even if you get the right answer, she will take off points just because she did not like the way you found the answer. Just a terrible teacher.

She has multiple formulas called the 'Woodrum Method' and they are all bits&pieces of formulas mixed together. They make no sense. You can't google for help because if it's not her way its wrong. I went to the tutoring center and finished an assignment with them and got a zero because I did not follow her methods. Had to get her permission to drop.

She grades very hard. In high school I loved math, but SCC made me hate it because of her and Mr. Leon Jones. For your homework, she gives you problems and grades all parts of your work. Even if you get the answer right, she will take off points if you didn't use the correct method of showing your work. I barely passed with a C in the class.

Grades according to how she believes things should be solved. Doesn't allow solving an equation through a method other than what she prefers. Requires purchase of textbook and online work. The online work at one point has you learn and memorize one method but she doesn't allow the use of that method and counts it wrong if done that way.

I've learned a lot from this professor, this class isn't hard to pass as long as you put the work into it. She's very helpful when you don't understand a certain topic and is very willing to help you understand it. She is a tough grader though, but as long as you show up to each class, put in the work, and ask questions it won't be hard to pass.
