Easy class and most of his test questions come from notes

Excellent teacher, I had him last semester for Crime and Justice in America. The textbook was necessary for the exams. He used a fair amount of guest speakers, and encouraged students to participate in extra credit opportunities. I would advise taking his class, and I hope he returns in the future.

It's not hard to get a good grade in the class. I ended up with a B after getting D's on the final and the paper. The guest speakers he has are great but when he lectures, it's horrible. He doesn't seem prepared and he has nothing to talk about. You should skip class when you know he is lecturing, trust me, pointless. The class was okay overall.

Awesome professor! Definitely a very bright guy. There were a lot of guest speakers, and although coming to class isn't mandatory, it's a good idea to go because half of the tests are from the lectures!

overall the class wasn't horrible. tons of guest speakers, most of them were interesting. offers a lot of extra credit for going on field trips & random other things. on the days he lectures it is awful. he is not a good speaker, but if you go to class and listen a little you'll do fine. must read the textbook though.

The guest speakers he brings in are much more interesting than him. Tests are ok, but you have to study. He does not go over any chapters in class. When he is going to be the speaker for the class, you might as well stay home because he rambles on. I would take the class if you're going into criminology. If not, don't bother with it.

This class was pretty straight forward, you come to class you listen to the lectures. the exam was half lecture questions and half book questions. I personally slacked off and deserved the grade that I got. Professor Dave is not there to be your best friend! He is doing his job by teaching you the course material.

one of the worst professors I've had. He thinks he's funny, when he's clearly not. He doesn't care about the students and when you have a question on an exam, he yells "NO QUESTIONS!"

To add on to the comment below: He is extremely rude to students, whether he means to be or not. His exams have multiple errors on them, and when asked about the errors, he just shouts "NO QUESTIONS!!!" at the top of his lungs. He was extremely disrespectful throughout the semester. He even thought it was funny to joke about Catholic priests...

Dr. "Dave" Agresti is by far the worst professor I have ever had. He refuses to give you a straight answer when you ask a question. His favorite reply to your question is, "Figure it out, Sherlock." I am a graduating senior, and he made this intro course harder than any other criminology course that I have taken. You'll regret taking his class.

Class is interesting and fun at times, not too hard to get a decent grade. Three exams, one paper and thats it. He is mindless at times though and has selective hearing and helping. Fun field trips to the crime lab and jails though! Gives out bonus points to help boost grade. I'd recommend it, but only if you have an interest in the field.

I had his class way back in the late 1980's. He was an amazing teacher, loved the class. I was totally bummed that I couldn't go on the class trip to the prisons though. Hope you are doing well wherever you are, Dr.Dave!!

I don't know the number of the class, but it was the OLLI -- Crime in American, I think, for the older, retired students. He is excellent and has a wonderful sense of humor.

Dr. Dave is a welcome addition to Osher's Study Group Leaders. He offers a conceptual view of the criminal justice system thru his academic and professional background. He gives out toys as prizes and he wears funny costumes to class. Tours to C. J. places were the best part of class. Thanks Dr. Dave for this experience.
