Pretty nice guy, he goes over quite a large amount of material at a fast pace so don't fall behind. Going to lectures help but the textbook wasn't really necessary

Holy hell was this class ever an info dump. But in a good way, since the content is interesting and studying is rewarded. I will say that the term paper was just really strange and unnatural for a 1st year course where most students don't have much knowledge about archaeological method. Definitely my hardest course this term, but very enjoyable.

I really like Pokotylo. He really cares about your learning and he's done some amazing things during his career. I've taken a few of his classes and he's very passionate about his work. Talks a little fast.

His lectures are fairly dry and he goes through a LOT of information really quickly. The criteria that he grades by is tough and so it is difficult to get a good mark on the short answer part of the exam. Overall he is extremely passionate about the subject and has great stories. Enjoyed the class but the delivery could have been better.

The TAs mostly are really hard markers and the lectures are very fast. He does post the lecture slides online, but going to class probably helps and discussions definitely help. Midterm is a killer and my class average was barely over a 50%. I wouldn't take this class if you don't need it.

Professor Pokotylo is a very dry lecturer, although he possesses much enthusiasm for the content. Although I hated this course at the beginning, I warmed to it and enjoyed it by the end. The quizzes were easy, but the exams were hard. I also found that the paper was marked harshly, as I matched the criteria but then was told that I didn't.

he seems very passionate about his subject, but honestly not a good teacher. All he does is read off the slides and goes too fast, if he posts them online for your class don't bother going to your lecture. Not a lot of home work though, and the tests are pretty easy, but i honestly wouldn't take his class again.

He's a really nice guy! willing to help you out when you need it, and if he sees you in class he really likes it. no attendance marks, but almost all questions from the midterms came straight out of the lectures.

David is super kind and funny. His lectures are fun and informative, though repetitive (not a bad thing though considering anth stats is HARD). Material is difficult if you're not a natural math genius but David is easily available and his TA, Ale, is the sweetest girl ever. Super helpful and supportive! Would take again.

Subject matter was disorganized, expectations not clearly stated. Class notes largely unhelpful when doing lab write ups.

He's a really nice guy, and is willing to go to extra lengths to help you whenever you need it. The class itself was challenging because of all the assignments, which were fairly time consuming. On the bright side there is absolutely no reason to do any of the readings, you just need to know what's on his slides. lectures could be boring at times.

He's very enthusiastic about his subject, but goes too fast when teaching. Exams are ok, but you need to know a lot, and very specific expectations for written questions. Assignments are pointless make-work projects and are marked too hard for what they are. A decent course, but contains too much information.

Good prof, good class, gives good notes, texts are relevant, exams are easy if you listen and read. Not too interesting. Very busy so cannot you much or answer questions. Organized. Fair marker. Assignements are relevant but odd. Very systematic teaching methods.

He really knows his stuff, but he needs to learn to tone it down so that first years understand him! We are not grad students! Textbook is horrible and final exam nearly killed me. I don't recommend this prof.

Boring lectures, but the powerpoints have nice pictures. I had trouble staying awake during lecture. Too finicky about the minor details as seen in discussion focus. Nice guy but just kind of average. Does know his stuff and is interesting in reciting dig stories.
