I'm conflicted about Don. On one hand he was a driven man who deeply cared for the students in his classes and wanted them to do as well as they possibly could. On the other hand, I don't feel I learned anything. It was ridiculously easy to get by without doing any reading or putting effort into the projects. I'm pretty sure everyone got an A.

Class was awesome. Only 2 assignments, easy grader. You have to put work into the final project, but it can be on ANYTHING you are interested in. Reading every week, but not REALLY mandatory. Don is awesome, he is a great guy and loves his students

If you have the opportunity to take a course with him, then do it. I've spoiled myself by taking one of his courses as a freshman, but it will hopefully not be my last. There is a lot of reading, but it's worth it. No tests, no midterm, no final. Only a final project (whatever you want it to be) and a journal through the semester. TAKE THIS COURSE!

I have had Don for both Creativity and Images of America's Past and he is the best. He really cares about his students, about their sucess, and their education. He is kind, helpful, and extremely knowledgable. He is one of NYU's best.
