Pretty easy class, if you're already a good writer. He left mid semester, but it was not all bad. He made us write an essay every week, until he eventually got tired of reading "crappy essays". He told us to read a chapter, but then we just spent the next class period reading the section over again. SO BORING.

LOL, man, he is really not the best at teaching english. He just wings it in class. Like he literally just goes with the flow. whatever happens, happens. A lot of people may not like that, but it was fine. hes nice and funny. Lots of essays, easy A. Just read and show up. Thats it. English is my worse subject, and i passed.

Professor Rubio is a good professor. His only negatives are that he usually gets off topic, sometimes its funny and sometimes its annoying. The other negative is that he tends to give pop quizzes to make sure that you are reading the text book. Students might think he's unfair, but to me, he makes you work for that good grade."MESSAGE!" I learned A LOT. Professor Rubio may seem strict, but it is just his style. He also has a good sense of humor. If you do your homework and participate in class, you will pass this class with a good grade and gain some valuable knowledge.

This professor is an amazing English teacher who has a background in teaching ESL so he emphasizes the proper use of grammar. There are weekly writing assignments. His teaching method is very direct. Take advantage of his office hours as he will sit down and guide you in your writing. Don't take his class unless you have thick skin. Not an easy A.

A lot might think his class useless, but he used to be an ESL teacher, so his main focus is teaching students correct grammar and do a lot of essays to improve their grammar.He asks students questions so, participation is advised and he's a relaxed grader. Be prepared for pop quizzes.

Rubio is an unorganized professor. For 16 weeks we did not do anything but rather went over grammar off a book. I did not learn anything throughout the whole semester. Instead of learning English 1, we went over elementary grammar. Does not give any assignments, quizzes, or test. This is really a boring and lame class

I really enjoyed this class. He wants a lot of essays, but that's how I improved. He was honest about his expectations at the beginning and followed through. He truly wants to see his students improve but you need to show up and do the work.
