Comment:

At the start of the semester Pila was a bit intimidating but don't let that fool you! She is straight up with her students & hilarious. There is a semester long group project & homework assignments for easy points. Although it's not mandatory I recommend going to class it's fun and the stuff actually sticks to your mind to prepare for tests.

She is trying really hard to appear tough and smart but she is far from smart. she memorized her slides years ago and that's all she knows. she uses a book from years ago and cites research from 70s! the woman has know clue how to teach.

Great professor. I did not find her tests or homework to be any trouble, even though there were no study guides (it was just common sense and skimming powerpoints). Just don't upload things upside down, as simple as that. And when you respond to homework questions, be detailed and don't half ass it or else you'll risk getting points taken off.

Dr. Pila was the best professor I have ever had at San Jose State. I started reading last semester comments and I was shocked. The students in the class were so disruptive and she handled them like saint. I would have kicked them out of class if I were her. If you wan to learn about OD, IO, business and how it relates to psychology take this class

I thought she was a great teacher. She will not coddle you and expects you to be responsible for the homework and studying for tests. There are no study guides but we are in college. She had a couple babies in her class when I took the class and they really disrupted the learning. I learned more in her class then I have ever learned in a class.

I really enjoyed this class. There were two students in our class that thought they were prima donna' and I was happy to see Dr. Pila not cave to their whining. She is an awesome teacher and teaches from real life experience. If you want to learn a lot and understand the IO field take Dr. Pila. You will be happy you did.

Her grading is inconsistent, condescending manner towards students, picky about uploading content (ie: she will dock points if the jpeg is uploaded upside down), contradicts instructions she gives... overall not a pleasant lady unless you suck up to her.

She's not a warm and fuzzy kind of instructor. She expects you to do the assigned materials prior to her class and will call on you if you look disengage in her lecture. She's tough, but I learned which is what matter most. You have to earn your grades here. This class is not meant for cry baby and attention deficit disorder students.

Disorganized, does not make expectations clear, takes points off for no reason, doesn't reply to emails, doesn't seem to take her "teaching" seriously. I tend to get very good grades and found these classes unbearable due to this instructor. Avoid if you can!

Pila's class is fun and you learn a lot. Pila is very professional and wants you to learn. She makes sure you understand the concepts by giving you real life examples. She is so smart. She is very patient,too. Great class!!!

This class was great!! I took 175 and 170 as well. They are about the same, but this class is a little bit more difficult. This class teaches you about team work and you will learn a lot. For those who want a dynamic class that will teach you about management and work relations, this is it.Just do the work, and you will learn a lot.

She is ammmmmmmmmmazing. I loved her class and was not surprised class usually had 100% attendance. She is hilarious and you will learn a lot without even realizing it. Take anything she teaches and you will be happy. She is a great teacher with a very caring and funny personality.

Love her! Love her! Love her! She is by far the funniest teacher I have ever had at State and you really learn through her practical experience. I want to go to grad school now and major in IO. I would love to work for her some day!!!!

She is literally my favorite professor. At first she was intimidating, but once she opened up, she was awesome! She uses real life examples (i.e-drugs, drinking) to make you WANT to learn more. Due to her class, I now want to major in Psych. Her exams are fairly easy and the final is open book. The rare assignments are EASY! LOVE THIS CLASSSSSSSSS

what an awesome semester. This class was fun and I can't believe how much I learned in the class. Dr. Pila uses real examples and tells amazing stories. This was by far one of the best classes i have ever taken at San Jose State.

Comment:

Pila is not an organized professor. She assigns random assignments, or doesn't explain the assignments thoroughly enough. Point system is really odd. Passed all my exams with an A and 1 B, but ended up with a B anyways. She doesn't use + or - on grades, just solid letters. Exams are fairly easy, and she is very lenient with giving extra points.
