Comment:
I graduated 5 years ago and Fadzillah is one of the few professors whose lectures and course content I can specifically recall and think fondly of. Her tests were a little too focused on the tiniest details of the assigned reading, I thought, but she did allow an index-card's worth of notes. With medium effort, anyone could pass. Medium-high for A+

Overall she is really good, but her discussions always get off topic. Like she wants to talk her puppy a lot this semester. But she is very good at answering any questions you have.

I LOVED DR. FADZILLAH!!! She doesn't "teach" much (her classes were discussion based around the previously assigned readings from the textbook). Her grades are clear and fair. As long as you do the reading you'll do fine in her class. Beware of the 8 page research paper! I'd definitely take her again given the chance.

Cultural Anthropology- Always responded to my questions and quickly fixed my grade when tests on D2L marked correct answers wrong. Beware those looking to take over summer. I read till my eyes hurt. I did get an A but it wasn't easy and I had time for nothing else.

Horrible teacher. Took her class online, it was a standard online class for MTSU, the difference being that she stalked the discussion board calling people out for questioning the book or pointing out flaws in others rationale. When you could get in contact with her (a very rare occurrence) she was startlingly rude and aloof.

She is a professor that requires you to think out of the box, which is why I think some people have a difficult time in her classes. It can be difficult to get into the mindset that is required to succeed in her classes, but once you do you view the world differently and it is an invaluable learning experience. I have taken three of her classes.

She is extremely interested in the topics she teaches and makes sure to keep the class awake and laughing. She gives quizzes on almost every reading, but you are allowed to have a two sided cheat sheet on her midterm and final! Her projects are super fun and interactive, and I'm really glad I took this class.

For anthropology majors the help & wisdom she imparts is crucial! If you are a major take her asap seriously! I wish I had sooner she is one of my favorite teachers now. The discussions are interesting as well as involving & she does a great job of guiding them towards insightful understanding. She lets you use notes on quizzes- not hard at all!

Class was online and consisted of read the book and do the tests/quizzes and contained no lecture material. It was difficult to receive good scores on the tests/quizzes due to the lack of lecture material and needing to answer based on her interpretation of the material. Communication with her was non existent outside of critical comments.

The first few classes were great and then all of sudden she seemed to completley lose interest in the class. Things from then on seemed unorgainized and she didn't really "teach" but rather ask if their were any questions. There are pop quizes often, and many of the questions are VERY random. Somehow I got an A, and I was completly shocked.

Granted it is a Gen Ed Requirement, but basicly you read the book, and she asks you if you have any questions and class is over. Everyday it was like that. If you need clarification on something she refers you to the book and will not explain it to you. BAD TEACHER.. if you can take someone else.

hates archaeology students. she acts as though they are below her. all her classes are the same but with different names. every class deals with race, class and gender, which are great topics, but she can't seem to branch out.

very very interesting. Maybe the best professor I've had at MTSU. She challenges the students and if you rise to the occassion you learn so much. And she's cute too!

Allowed the class to guide the lecture. The same people argued the same points every day. It got monotonous, and she never really put a stop to it! The tests were fairly easy though.

It's hard to tell where you stand with her. She wants to be your mentor one moment, and then she blows you off the next. Her classes are interesting, but she expects a lot.

I'm fairly certain she doesn't like "dirt people" -- archaeology minors. She's always very curt, and she just glares at me whenever I say hello or smile to her. I don't dislike her at all; it's just hard to learn when you suspect your professor has a rather ridiculous and far-reaching prejudice.

This instructor expects word for word textbook definitions; paraphrasing, even if it means the exact same thing will not be accepted by her.
