Comment:
His lectures are incredibly boring. The vast majority of the class does not understand what he is asking of us in our assignments. He assigns way too many readings to stay on top of with other classes, and readings are dense and dry. I can not wait to get out of this class. He marks harshly and there is no variety in assignments. Horrible.

This class was not enjoyable what so ever. The lectures were quite dull. My TA was literally useless, the majority of my seminar failed, or came very close. she could not answer even the simplest of questions, and when you went to your prof, he would just say to ask your TA again. I would never recommend this course.

Be prepared to work hard and have something to say that is of worth. He knows if you are making a legitimate effort and expects curiosity and a willingness to be open to new ideas. If you leave your ego at the door and try to be a more humble student, you will succeed in the course. If you try to prove you are right all of the time, you won't.

It's always sad when professors feel compelled to write their own reviews in a vain attempt to bump up their rating. So sad ...

Couldn't disagree more about this prof being only into his own research. He's tough, but he can also be incredibly generous and supportive. Utterly brilliant man, very progressive in dealing with women and students of color. His politics and his professionalism are both impeccable.

This man lives for himself. He is not interested in teaching others, rather he wishes to further his own research through the fruits of others. What a waste of office space!

He is extremely difficult. Lecture are not exciting. You must keep on top of readings and fully understand them. If you do not say what he wants, you'll see it in your marks. Be prepared to work your butt off!

It was great to see different plays and fairly good class. Sometimes got a little boring. But I have to say, that he's a super hard marker, and if you don't have what he wants to see in your writing, then you're messed. Not very personable either...

The concept of the class is great, you get to see a variety of performances as your textbook. However, he can be mean sometimes and does not seem to personable towards his students.
