Comment:
Regurgitated the material from the textbook, but he explained a little more clearly. His lectures are straightforward and easy to understand. Fortunately for me, unfortunately for others, he does, and sometimes shows, examples of problems to illustrate the concepts a little more. Assignments are kinda long but not too difficult to figure out

Comment:
Jeff Chen's boardwork rarely includes motivation or explanation for ideas; sometimes he communicates those things orally, but generally he says nothing on them. The math and physics themselves are relatively easy, but seeing the "big picture" using sparse notes and a high-level textbook (which he doesn't properly follow) is very difficult.

Decent professor, but only spent time on problems and not enough on theory. Also, he didn't answer student's questions very well.

Chen is an excellent prof! Always helpfull! he uses the "stick and candy" method...i.e. hit you with a stick to get the candy...that is...he makes you work hard and you reap the rewards at the end (if not in marks..in knowledge).

Comment:
We had a saying for taking courses with this prof: "You got Chen'ed". This course was brutal and unenjoyable; I regretted taking it with this prof. Chen was arrogant and condescending; typical "God complex" physicist. He actually told a friend of mine to use his "little brain" to figure out an assignment problem. In fairness, he did mellow.

Comment:
Chen is very arrogant and detached from his students, although he really believes its the opposite. He is hard to approach, moody, and cannot hear very well. His midterms/exams are unfair and rely on memorization.
