Everybody is totally lying about Crowley. His class is amazing. I wish he could teach every class ever. Interesting. And very cute. He is like a computer that knows things that are important in today's world. Can I give two chili peppers?

I absolutely disagree with some of the comments posted! I did not think he was boring at all. I enjoyed his style of teaching; very direct and informed, and if he didn't agree with you, he would tell you. He knows his stuff and you will learn a lot about Am LIT. I recommend his class. Make sure you know how to write a paper (and read poetry!).

Avoid his class at all costs. Although his grading policy is not too bad, he is incredibly confusing when lecturing. And if you try to come to him after class or during his office hours for help, he treats you like you are stupid.

I loved his classes and his style. He does demand a lot of writing, but how do expect to do well if you don't practice? I took several classes with John and he was an exceptional mentor.

The class itself isn't very demanding, but it does involve a lot of writing. He's not interesting at all- listening to him go on (and on) first thing in the morning can make for the longest hour of your entire life.

His "alcohol" seminar is useful for life issues. He's not gifted as a teacher, but he's a good mentor otherwise. Wrote many books and gives good advice on research/writing techniques, can tell you anything about anything. Boring but not too hard
