LITERALLY the nicest and easiest teacher objectively. He's an old guy who's full of life and super funny. Show up to class, listen to him lecture and have quiz the next day. Quiz super easy- just 10 question. Midterm and final are take home. HES AMAZING, TAKE HIMMMM

Really fun class. Prof Jones is hilarious and great at making all of the plays relate to modern issues. He's interested in what you have to say and takes the time to really listen to you. You must read the plays to pass as he quizzes you on each play. Overall easy grader. Just do what he asks you to do and turn it in on time.

I took the 8 week class and have to say it was a lot of work, but leaving the class I feel very accomplished. There is a 15 page research paper, two 9 page papers, and a couple three page papers due within the short period. Expect to be having a quiz on a play every class period, and some long lectures about the play and videos during class.

LOVE this man. Never in my life have I even considered watching a play. After his class, I've grown to love & appreciate all types of plays; can't thank him enough. Show up to class, take your notes, and that should easily help you pass quizzes. Go watch his recommended plays, write a critique paper, & you're done. Remember, be respectful!!

I'v never rated a professor on here before, but I just had to write about this guy. John is hands down the most AMAZING professor at IVC. He is easily my favorite professor I've ever had. Show up to class, don't even need to take notes, just pay attention and respect his time and he'll respect you. One of the easiest A's i've ever received.

Very nice and lenient guy, albeit a little senile. Will give you a good grade as long as you show effort. Use Sparknotes or the like to get past quizzes, but make sure you still skim the play in order to write the essays. Would take again for GE

SUCH A GREAT GUY. Super funny try to make lectures fun. He knows what he's talking about, but not the BEST explainer. Take good notes and you pass the quizzes that take place after 3-4 classes. You only have one assignment, which is watch a play and review it. Pretty much no hw, if you don't do well on quiz, watch an extra play and write another.

John is one of the most amazing people out there. He directed me in a show, and I learned so much from him. He is an industry professional, so talked a lot about really interesting things relating to being a professional actor. Bottom line - if you want to become an actor, take his classes. It doesn't matter what class it is -- just take him.

I had no interest in this class before taking it, but the material turned out to be pretty fun. Quizzes on every reading assignment (just read and you'll do fine). Lots of writing for the midterm, final, live show critique, and research paper but he is very openminded when grading. He encourages class participation a lot.

Honestly such a funny guy. I took this class for the easy A which it was but honestly loved every minute of it. Try to show up as much as possible as all of his weekly quizzes are directly off his notes from the board, plus attendance is also for points. Quizzes are EXTREMELY easy if u just pay attention. Ton of extra credit. No homework. Take him

He's very enthusiastic and gives everyone a chance to speak. Easy A whether you like reading plays or not. If you pay attention in class you can basically convey that into your midtermfinalessays. READ THE PLAYS. I found them online but it'd probably help and be easier if you just gave in and bought the books.

Simply an easy A, you have to write down everything he says cause that's where he puts his quizzes from he don't care about grammer. He's a really nice person and fav. gives tones of extra credit. you have to attend as much as you could cause what he says in class and also you get 5pt each class!! I needed this simply as an elective and had no prior interest. His class is VERY easy, but attendance in mandatory. If you fail the midterm or quizzes, he gives you tons of extra credit opportunities to make up for it. I actually learned a lot from his class and he's one of my have professors! Take him!

GREAT teacher. Quizzes can be difficult if you aren't paying attention, he can throw some "curve balls" sometimes. If you failed the midterm, the final is easy, just time consuming.

When he grades essays he doesn't really care much about grammar. Very easy grader, but classes can be very dull and boring. At first I found his lectures to be interesting, but now I try not to fall asleep. Easy A though. He now gives out quizzes for every play. They may make getting an A harder if you don't read the plays
