One of the worst classes I have ever had the misfortune of taking. Wished I had dropped the class when I had the chance. Does not teach during class, is very heavy on her ideals and political views. such a bad semester didn't learn anything. except that she is a terrible teacher.

Nothing during her lectures is actually meaningful. As long as you agree with her views and are good at writing papers you will do well. Do yourself a favor and dont take the class and save yourself the time and sanity. She calls my class stupid almost once a class period and will always find ways to be extremely offensive. She is unable to please

She is one of the worst teachers I have ever had, which is saying something. I would rather lose a foot than be forced to take another one of her classes. If you do take her, I suggest you drop her immediately. I wish I had.

Terrible-- Instead of clearly stating what she expects out of our papers, she talks about her personal life and stupid/random topics. She started with giving everyone a 0/100 because we didn't understand the paper, but she didn't explain it well enough so we all played catch up for the rest of the semester.

Seeing that I am an English/Education major, she made this class harder than it had to be. If you do not have a CLEAR understanding of what she wants, you will fail. *I spent over half a semester in the class and had to drop it because I had a zero that I DID NOT WANT on my transcript. - She WILL NOT work with you or explain beyond lecture/"read!"

Steible is the single WORST teacher I have ever had, she is in no way helpful on assignments, she does not teach in class, and she consistently attempts to push her political and social agendas on her students and ridicules anyone with opinions unlike hers. She is a hateful baby boomer who needs to leave the 70s behind. Would NOT recommend!

I'm having a more difficult time in her class than in A&P and BacT. The papers are awful and over the worst topics and on top of that the assignments aren't very clear it's always "in the book" and then she grades insanely hard for not being specific with what she wants. Do yourself a favor and DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.

She spends the entire class period talking about her personal views, sometimes about controversial topics. She doesn't explain exactly what she wants for papers but then acts like you are stupid if you don't do exactly what she wanted. Worst class I have ever taken.

She doesn't teach, only tells you "it's in the book" and that you should read it, but the book isn't much help either. When you come to class, her lectures are pointless and has nothing to do with the topics of what you're learning. And yes almost everyday she says something offensive.

She just has you read stories and then you come to class and she just talks about her own point of view. You are going to feel offended at one point. She makes stereotypical generalizations every day. Attendance matters cause shes starts docking your grade if you dont show up. Your grade depends on your ability to write previous to the class.

Assigns many papers which is fine, but the topics she makes you write about are VERY boring. A lot of the time when you ask for help she doesn't give you a clear answer but instead blames you for not knowing every answer. Such a hard class considering it's just English 102...

I would definitely never take her class again. She is not understanding or open to work with you. When you ask her questions, through email especially, she just tells you to read the section of the book. She talks about whatever she wants to talk about (mainly the environment) and doesn't realize that she actually has to do her job and teach.

I would not take this professor for English 102. I had two textbooks for the class that were anthropology 300 level. She rambles a lot and is not specific to what you are reading at all. The reading is difficult and was way over my head. She follows the syllabus for about a month, and then changes dates, and it becomes difficult to follow.

She was a very harsh grader, and if you did not side with her opinion on things, then you were wrong, and your grade reflected it. She went into too much personal detail about her life, things not needed to share. The whole semester was spent on what's happening with the environment, rarely any English. She used the class to spread her opinions.

She's wonderful! Yes, she goes off topic a lot but she is hilarious. As long as you can pick out the important points, take a few notes, and read everything thoroughly you will be fine. Her tests are essay but as long as you back up your ideas she doesn't mark off. She knows what she's talking about and is very intelligent!
