Tankovich was the worst professor I have ever taken. He does not care about his students: inaccessible outside of class for help and did not respond to half of my emails (when he did respond it was days later). All he did was lecture and does not post the notes so you had to write it ALL. Test questions were impossible and could not prepare for it.

Pretty sure he's the only CHEM professor at Cstate's Dublin campus... if you take 1171 first semester and then 1172 second semester, be prepared to have hime as your professor again.. He doesn't help much in terms of getting you prepared for midterms, and there are 6 of them. Study, Study, Study like it's the only class you have!!

He isn't a terrible teacher, but his class is extremely difficult. Your grade consists of 15 labs each worth 10 pts, and 6 tests each worth 100 pts. He does drop your lowest test grade, which is nice. Also, 2 quizzes were given at the end of the semester each worth 15 extra credit pts. An A is possible, but be prepared to work.

He puts nothing online, no notes. Everything on the exam is from his lectures, he gives you book work to do but doesn't really stress it's importance. He doesnt give out any worksheets and doesn't provide you with any extra material you can study with. CLASS GRADES ARE ONLY 6 MIDTERMS (100 pts) and 10 labs (10pts) THATS IT.

Tankovich is the worst professor I've had. He does not have office hours and he takes several days to reply to emails. He doesn't care about the students at all. He's been teaching at the collegiate level for over 30 years and makes mistakes in the math all the time. Doesn't use powerpoints for lectures, and won't post anything online.

I got a c but I am a straight A student no one in the class got an A , the highest was 78 , DONT TAKE HIS CLASS !

Kows what he's talking about but tends to skip steps while working problems on the board so it got confusing. He would leave out notes and say it was because he got lazy. Has no office hours. Doesn't reply to emails. 6 tests, nothing else to help your grade except lab. Teaches at a very fast pace. If you're not strong in chem don't take him.

If this is the only class you're taking and you're a chem major, then you might be able to get a good grade. Tests are setup where if you miss 5 questions, you're down to an 80%. Assumes that after he says something once, you know that concept fully. Try to find someone else if you can.

Death by whiteboard every lecture without fail. Provides examples but test q's usually have an extra twist. Recommends book problems but accurately cautions you that they don't match the tests. Difficult to get full credit on labs, VERY difficult to anticipate the test q's, no hw or other points. No office hours or curve, small extra credit at end.

This prof just isn't good. He doesn't follow with the book well (a bad prof that follows the book at least allows you to teach yourself). The 1st test bore no resemblance to any practice problems and was super hard to read (seriously!!). I ended up dropping. At CSCC, find a good prof and plan your schedule around them. Tank is awful.

This is not an easy class, but the clarity of a teacher's lectures and their willingness to help students made all the difference to me. Tankovich spewed EVERY fact in the book and didn't delve deeper on key issues covered on the tests.I strggled to get a C with him. I retook 171, and earned A's throughout the 170 course. I would NOT recommend.

Hard, but if you need to know chemistry for any reason he's be the teacher to have. The class requires ALOT of studying and working problems. There's a ton of material covered and it is covered fast. He tends to just make up his own rules and it can get annoying. I would say this class is only for students that could be classified as honor students

I liked Professor Tankovich even though he was a very hard instructor. He was a little eccentric and kind of inaccesible but he was a very smart man and I learned a lot even though I had to study my pants off.

The worst teacher I have ever had. His lecture class consists of him talking and writting so quickly on the board that you never have a chance to ask a question. He does not care about the student or there needs, he only cares about himself and his paycheck. My brother was sick and in the hospital and he would not let me reschedule test no heart!
