Unless I was looking straight at him the entire lecture, I couldn't understand what he was saying...and I study Asian language. I was excited about this class, now I'm just bored. Real nice guy...but I'd rather have a professor I can understand. Isn't that the point?

Struggle to go to this class, apparent no one enjoyed it. Difficult to understand, spoke very quietly and mumbled frequently. Could tell he knew the info, but regardless class was boring. Avoid if at all possible

Yea, due to the accent I had a hard time concentraing sometimes, but if you put effort into doing the reading and try not to doze off, you can do well. He is a GREAT person and tries to be as helpful as he can be. Class is very educational

Liang is awesome. He's so much fun and has a lot of first hand experience for 121, East Asian Studies. Kind of a lot of reading, but not bad if you stay on top of it. I learned a lot and was never bored.

Couldn't understand a word he said, unfortunately. His test questions are somewhat complicated, and I often felt like I couldn't win in his class. Good luck, kids.

He is so FUNNY! I think that I laugh in his class everyday. He makes everybody laugh. There are a lot of readings but that's normal and he does expect you to read the assignments because he gives pop quizes but as he said, he grades easily on the essays.

He is hilarious! I love his American jokes with the heavy Chinese accent its so fun! he is great teacher and very enthusiastic about the topic. I definitely recommend him.

Comment:

Sometimes he can be unclear due to his English. However, he's very nice and helpful. He is very knowledgable and knows what he's talking about. The course load is very reasonable too. I definately recommend him.
