Tells people's grades to THE ENTIRE CLASS. He noticed a student wasn't in class for the second day in a row, then joked with the class saying "Well he's getting a D on his paper anyway." Grades you on criteria he doesn't give you until the 4th week. So prepare to fail the first 3 week's assignments.

Krauss is rude and completely unprofessional. He rips apart your assignments and says "if I were to give this a grade it would be..." while acting he makes you feel extremely uncomfortable and rarely gives any positive feedback. Do not take a class with him if you are in any means emotional or have anxiety. He gets enjoyment out of seeing you cry

I enjoyed this class with Krauss and you can tell he is passionate about the topic he's teaching. Two tests, but gives practice ones so you know exactly what to expect.

I was terrified to take Krauss after reading these reviews. The entire semester, I never felt belittled once. Krauss is tough, he expects you to give it your all, so if you want an easy A, this isn't the class for you. If you work hard and participate in discussions, you'll learn a lot from this professor.

He was by far one of the worst professors i have ever had. You have no opinion in his class, his is the only right answer. He is degrading and very difficult to work with. He thinks he is better than everyone. Do not take his class for a few reasons; very boring, in-proper, and be prepared to be judged.

Do not take this class. It was so boring and I hated going every week. We basically sat in a classroom and talked for the whole class time. No notes, no power points, no anything. He sits in a chair and asks irrelevant questions about the readings. The readings are also really boring.

WARNING!!! If you want to be abused and hated on, take this class. Miserable, grumpy, and jaded. Loves to give assigments and grade harshly, which would be fine, but he doesn't teach anything or instruct. He ruined what should have been a fun class. DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR ANYTHING!!

I suggest never taking Dr. Krauss. He doesn't remember anything. He will attempt to give suggestions, then contradict himself, while you're the one that ends up with a grade unworthy of your work. He's not a good teacher at all. You're subjected to stories about places he's been, which are repeated throughout the semester, while not learning much.

Krauss is OK. At times, he can make class enjoyable, and at other times I can't believe the stuff he says and does. He definately favors people who have been in his plays before, even when those people are complete idiots. He doesn't hold back his opinions either, especially the bad or hurtful ones.

This was by far the WORST class that I have ever taken in 4 years of college. He was unwilling to listen to suggestions, was rude and judgmental to us as students and his expectations and requirements were extremely unclear. He obviously played favorites so as long as you suck up and have known him for a while maybe you can get away with a B. As

I thought the class was okay until I took acting at UAlbany and realized how little Krauss had actually taught about acting technique. I think he figures since there is no drama major, he can be superficial in teaching acting without anyone noticing. It's fine for what it is, but if you're serious about learning how to act, look elsewhere.

Hard grader with a dry wit, snarky comments, and a sly look. Yes, don't miss a class, and whatever you do, DO NOT do anything but pay attention in his class. If you have a matured sense of humor and take him with a grain of salt, Krauss can be awesome!
