Great prof. Explains everything on the slides and repeats himself constantly. Don't bother buying the book as everything he says is what you'll be tested on. Quizzes are so easy and as long as you memorize / briefly understand what was taught in class, you'll do well. Highly recommend taking PHI1102 with him.

Great prof. He gets straight to the point in his lectureshe makes the content clear and understandable which is really important when it comes to a subject like philosophy. Lectures aren't always exciting, but don't skip them! He posts powerpoints but those don't help if you don't go to class. Classes are short too, so don't come late!

Usually I hate redundant teachers cuz they bore & annoy me but honestly I rly appreciated Mr. Brown repeating himself in different examples. He's very passionate about the subject, very clear when teaching. All pwr-points are online, 2 midterms worth 25%, 1 final worth 50%... There's a catch-up midterm if you missed 1 of the 2. No manual/book.

Conveys the material in a clear way making philosophy easier than expected. He doesn't have a textbook so the only way to get examples to practice with are from the notes and he only gives the answers in class. He tells you exactly the format of all the exams and reuses the examples he has in his notes. Wont let students leave class early.

Though not a tough grader he is a terrible professor, get ready to re-teach yourself a lot of material. The final exam is worth a ridiculous amount so it's almost as much about memorization as it is understanding. There is no textbook for this class but it probably would've been better if there was, his slides are very scattered.

Nice guy, always ended class early and was willing to answer questions. Attendance is not mandatory, but answers to exercises are only given in class. All slides were always posted. Two midterms, no tricky questions, some were taken straight from the examples. Follow along in class and do the practice questions and you'll do great.

I am not great at philosophy but he does make it a manageable subject. 3 tests throughout the semester each worth a lot. He does post the slides online after class but it is very hard to learn if you're not there with him explaining it.

Pretty good teacher! My only advice would be to improve his examples in class using the projectors in some creative way instead of writing on the blackboard. Also rush a little less quickly; I like leaving early, but taking notes is fine too.

Tests are fair game but not to worry because he gives you everything you need to know. Gives lots of examples so practice that alot and you'll get an easy A. Finishes class 30 mins earlier. Doesn't allow students to talk and leave early during class which I appreciated. He is definitely the best philosophy prof you can get.

Honestly, he is a great prof, but the course will make you say "what?" a lot. However, he does present the material clearly, and he is a great lecturer. He also provides an outline of his exams. His exam's were very reasonable, just make sure you practice.

While class is non-mandatory, you will find that attending will improve your understanding significantly as he provides clear and relevant examples. He demands respect from his students (i.e. not talking during lecture or leaving early) which I find refreshing (and should be expected in a University setting)! He's witty and extremely approachable!

Such an easy professor. Sometimes the class feels slow but he will give you an easy A if you listen and do the work done in the lectures. Also his classes are only have the time of what is said on schedules. I was in a 3 hour class but it would never go past an hour and a half. Easy marks and short classes with little studying needed.

Mark Brown was a great prof! He gives all of the tools necessary to get a great grade. He also takes a course that could be super duper boring and makes it interesting. If you go to class and pay attention you will get an A easily because he goes over examples of his tests. His expectations are very clear and I learned a lot in this course.
