AVOID HER. really strong vietnamese accent, hard to decipher. unapproachable. even if you go to office hours, she was rude & unhelpful. if you have to take her class, MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND ALL THE WORD PROBLEMS because that's what she focuses on during tests. difficult tests. mandatory attendance

She is very hard to understand. Her tests are ridiculous get ready for tons of word problems. Her weekly quizes are alright so dont miss a friday class or else your screwed.She is not vey good at explaining things but she is great at criticizing your work. Like i said she is very hard to understand i am asian and it was difficult comprehending her

She knows her stuff but is extremely hard to understand. I haven't taken algebra for a few years so it's sort of difficult to begin with. But when I registered for her class I was not expecting how bad it was. She doesn't make any eye contact with anyone, has a strong accent, and doesn't explain the course work clearly. DO NOT TAKE HER!

I will admit that she is helful, but she has an extremely strong accent. She looks at the ceiling while she is speaking so she can not see when you have a question. Her quizes are easy but she is a work nazi. If you do not show every little thing that you could possibly show for that problem, she will give you no credit for it

she is so nice. I hate math and she helped me understand it a lot. her office hours are very helpful if you dont understand the homework. She is really nice. Has a strong accent, but you get used to it.

Unless you understand math on your own you will struggle in this class. Yes, she will help if you ask her but her accent is difficult to understand and she doesn't explain very well. I did fine in honors math all throughout high school but her teaching epitome of horrible teacher. She also spits a lot on the overhead when explaining.

omgsh Leslie is the sweetest professor ever. she is suuper helpful and she is clear on what is to be expected on the tests. study guides are handed out prior to the tests and it is almost identical to the tests. yes this teacher does have a thick accent but you get use to it. i definitely recommend her! she's great!!

I had her for fall 2010 and it was really easy! Her accent was a little bit hard to understand, but after the first 2 days I was able to understand. If you need help ask her after class and she will help. Study the notes for class and you will be fine. I went into the final with a B and came out with a B even though I didn't study at all!

Sweet Lady who wants her students to succeed. Half of the class would have D's or F's, but that's b/c half the class are delinquents who don't study & dont the hw. She wud constantly extend hw deadlines for em. Seriously, if u can't make it thru a freshman college algebra class, your never gonna make it 4 yrs.

Well the first 4 weeks you learn about how to interpret a vietnamese accent. Then from there you have to put up with her bad teaching abilities.. 48% of the class is failing with a D or F. Basically get an A on the first 3 tests and maybe you will have a chance in her class. Plus she is no help and doesn't encourage office hours.. Such a Fail

Prior experience with asian accented teachers recommended! This class was too easy for me but If you have difficulty with anything she is happy to help anyone if you just ask. Homework is easy for the most part, except at times it gets tedious (Try to not hold it off till the end) For her tests make sure to show EVERY step in the process.

The first few weeks are extremely difficult because her accent takes a while to get used to. The tests are tricky and she docks off points for every little detail. She teaches pretty good but understanding the accent would be the first step into passing her class. Got a B+, and make sure to do the hw because that would really help!

I signed up for math, not chinese. she helps alot if you ask quesitons during tests. pretty straight forward. do the homework online, dont slack, i got a b-. there was a serious sound barrier though. i could not understand anything she said.

Mrs. Ly is an extremely nice lady. She's willing to help out students no matter what the problem is. The class is fairly easy. The tests are not that difficult as well as the quizes. I would highly recommend Mrs. Ly. She is a great teacher.

She was really helpful on tests and quizzes if you ask her a question even on a test or quiz she will at least give you a hint. However it is extremely difficult to understand her. I spent the first few weeks of the class trying to figure out what she was saying.

Extremely nice as long as you give her respect. Your attendance will reflect your grade. Test are easy as well as quizzes. All you have to do is take time to completely finish and understand the homework and you will do great in the class. If you cannot deal with 1 professor that has a Vietnamese accent quit college now, you will not be successful.
