Comment:
Dr. Savova has a very weird way of teaching you to write as if we don't already know how to write a paper. Her lectures are pointless to attend because she goes over grammar in sentences like in grade school instead of actual lectures. She also will only meet with you through Zoom, which is just video chat. Very vague grading criteria.

Is not clear at all. Does not answer any questions. Gets mad if you ask literally anything. Everything is on hour long zoom sessions outside of class, and if you ask a question she yells to look at the zoom. Does not explain what we are supposed to be doing. Do not take this professor.

one of the most confusing professors I have ever worked with. The layout of her class makes no sense and refuses to help you understand, you just have to guess. Avoid taking at all costs.

This is the most confusing class Ive ever taken in college. She does not explain the assignments and then gets angry when we ask for help because she does not accept questions and says we must figure it out on our own. Dont take if you dont have to

Its a flipped class. She said there wasnt enough time in class to do lecture so that is when we practice. So I had to spend an hour and 15 min in class then also watch over an hour zoom video on my own time.

This class was very confusing to take online. The homework and directions were very unclear and made no sense at all. When your work is graded, the professor does NOT grade, she had students doing it for her. Even though I passed the class I did not gain anything from this college course.

Dr. Savova was unclear in instruction and grading criteria. We were required to attend bi-weekly video sessions, which were timed badly (4:30 - 5:30pm on Fridays). She assigned a grammar test that was worth 100 points and the only thing to go off of was your textbook. Also, most assignments are worth 100 points with poor instructions/guides. AVOID

I took online English with this professor and it was the worst class I have ever had. You never know what is going on. You are clueless of what to turn in or do for assignments. I tried working with people I knew in the class and no one ever knew what was going on. She is no help. If you don't have to take her DONT!!

I took Dr. Savova for a linguistics class. I see why some students may dislike her, especially at the undergrad level. Dr. Savova has a slight accent (she's Bulgarian), but she's still understandable. Also, she typically teaches TESOL to grad students. Nonetheless, she's a brilliant and respected woman. If you're willing to try, I'd recommend her.

This was the most confusing class I have ever had. Nothing was clear on the syllabus and there were 6 different syllabus. there is a lot of work every week and very hard to figure out what you needed done. The test was very hard and did not make sense. Do not take this if you do not want an overload of work.

I took Savova for English 202, and it was the easiest English class I've ever taken in my life. Honestly. Granted it was online, but still. At one point in the semester she basically told us,"I'm not grading for correctness, I'm grading for completion." Easiest online class everrrrrr.

She used too many websites! She wouldn't let her online students meet with her for office hours, only through Skype. She also does not answer questions you ask. She just says, "look at the syllabus." She did not clarify any questions any students had and had way too many assignments due each week on multiple sites.

VERY Confusing. She uses too many different sites and programs. You have to be responsible for checking syllabus everyday, she doesnt tell you what to do each week. IF you ask her a question she expects you to look at her forums rather than answering it. She was lenient on grading though and late work.

Great woman. It was truly fascinating to listen to her talk about her life growing up in Bulgaria. Her anecdotes DO have to do with what is learned, you just have to realize that she isn't just going to give you all the answers, you have to work to learn. Which is what a prof is supposed to do. Loved the class and her!

She didn't teach the class at all. We had to read a chapter and then discuss, but when the class was stumped and needed help she wasn't there to guide us through the problem. She also wasn't very clear on what needed to be accomplished when it came to assignments. I would never take her again, nor would I suggest her to anyone.

Easy, not always so understandable. Willing to help. In her defense, college is about teaching *yourself* the material. Savova was there only as a guide, as all profs should be. She won't hold your hand or "tell" you how to handle yourself. Not for immature students.

She is the nicest woman in the world, but she goes off on a random topic for the ENTIRE class. Her class was really a waste of time because she never presented us with any information. She relied on us reading the text books for every class and asking questions based on the reading. Do not take her class unless you want to waste your time.
