Comment:

Great teacher for introducing you to graphic design. i found myself kind of nervous but it was great. The projects were great and taught with real world experiences. I felt like i learned a lot and he was very understanding . Graphic design is not easy but Just try to make an effort in that class and he will really appreciate it! Great Professor !!

Comment:

Prof. Baker was my favorite professor this quarter. He does a great job of introducing graphic design and the projects were engaging and explained well. I am proud of the work I was able to create in this class with his help! Only negative is his style of critique- written with very little feedback. Regardless, would definitely take his class again

Comment:

The entire class is a group project and he assigns the group from the beginning and each person a job not allowing the students to grow. I was stuck with a job that was never interface designing even tho its an interface design class. Would have much rather made my own work instead of having to go with someone elses idea everytime.

The entire class was sitting and watching linda videos. Complete waste of my money and time. If i wanted to be taught by a computer i would have done it online and been able to do it at home. 66hrs of linda videos is a joke.

Baker is a great professor. I learned a lot in this course. However, his method of critique is ridiculous. I would prefer putting work on the wall rather than doing written critiques. I often left critique feeling uneasy about my grade for the project. 4 projects, 4 quizzes-- goes by quick.

I loved this class, the way the class was ran worked very well for me. The process he makes us use for research has been my favorite so far. Louis is also really charismatic and likeable which makes the class more enjoyable

Great teacher who is very passionate about his work. He will really push your creative limits. Creativity and coming up innovative ideas was the most difficult things about this class. (Really cares judges craftsmanship)

Prof Baker is a cool guy and he really wants you to be successful. His lectures are helpful and you can tell he is really passionate about what he teaches. However, every single class we seemed to be extremely crammed for time at the end. Critiques were drawn out at first, then rushed leaving people with different amounts of feedback :/

Baker is a fantastic professor. This was my first graphic design class and he made me fall in love with graphic design. he has four projects and they are super interesting and fun! I strongly encourage everyone to take him for a class if they can.

Comment:

He makes the course content really easy to understand and tries to keep the lectures as light as possible. Gives time to work on projects in class and is very helpful. Sometimes he is not able to explain the task very clearly but makes up for that by being an easy grader. I would definitely recommend him.

Comment:

Baker is a solid professor. I had him for SERV and GRDS201 (same quarter). I liked his classes because he assigns real world projects and acts as a creative director, which makes it more interesting. He's very particular about grade points (even knocking off 5 points if you aren't at a class for SERV) and focuses more on exploration than execution.

He is inspirational and gets you excited for you career outside of the classroom. Follow his instructions exactly if you want to get an A on projects. The quizzes are easy as long as you read the textbook and go over vocab words. Projects are fun and he gives you freedom in your designs. If you wanna learn a lot from just an intro class take Baker

EXCELLENT professor! If I could, I would take Baker for every class. He's clear about what he wants from you, he gives you feedback on everything including great suggestions. He's very tough, but it only makes you a better designer and ready for the real world. Definitely take him!

Extremely difficult, but he treats you like a boss in the real world. Meaning you have your stuff done on time and show up on time or you're fired. Bring your A game to this class, and you will get some great pieces for the portfolio.

He's an awesome prof, very nice and understanding if you have issues in or out of his class. Gives good feedback but not always prior to crits unless you go to him during office hours. The crits in the class were set up sort of weird but overall I'd recommend him to other students and I'm taking him again, one of the best prof. I've had at SCAD

I love Baker! His class was great, he deff makes you work hard, if you take him you should know that presentation can make or break your project. Make sure you have everything precise!
