Professor Van Stone isn't great but not bad either, honestly the class is pretty easy, just show up and pass and you'll be fine. The homework he gives out isn't entirely clear, but it's fairly easy just ask, if you don't you'll fall behind and won't pass, lectures are easy, I fell asleep sometimes or was on my phone and got an A, just pay ATTENTION

This professor has a great passion for art history. If you need an ART class and you want to learn and have solid A, this your class. Assignments are a simple essay to answer the videos or some art pictures from the past, which are illustrated during the class. The professor is really open to help and provide tools to complete the course.

If you need to take ANY art classes, you MUST take this professor!!! He is brilliant, incredibly entertaining, shows really unique and wonderful artists both historical and modern that will blow your mind. He has no due dates for assignments and gives TONS of extra credit, you cannot fail! If you receive enough points - no final! Brilliant man!

Very sweet professor but there are very few assignments and most are unclear. Does not give due dates so it is very easy to have your grade drop if you dont keep up with the class yourself. He is also not on canvas so youre in the dark about your grade.

Professor Van Stone is pretty chill, just be sure to show up to class cause he can be pretty disorganize but! it's crucial cause he will give out assignments and won't really give out due dates, so be sure to do them... other than that the class itself is easy, easy grader, will give extra credit if you show up sometimes!

Your grade mainly consists of doing check-up journals from what you saw that week, and they only have to be half a page long.

He is a very kind and intelligent teacher, he knows everything about the history of art. The problem is that he forget many things. He leaves you many extra credits and tasks. The classes are really boring but if you are very interested in art, he is the best option. If you do the majority of extra credits you save yourself from the final exam.

Prof. Van Stone has so much interesting facts about EVERYTHING! Sometimes I would forget what we were originally talking about but he makes sure to get back to his original point. If you pay attention he will say "this will be on your final" or "extra credit to the people who tell me about so and so". Also he shows many document. so take notes)

He's really easy but he gets a little lost with homework. Your going to ask him about the homework because sometimes he doesn't verbally assign it but the homework is easy. Gives a lot of extra credit so you cant fail and the homework doesn't have a due date until he says all "late" work is due by a certain date. Your final is a Disney movie.

Art is my least favorite subject but Van Stone gets you engaged into it! You can receive an easy A in his class, gives many extra credit opportunities, and wants to know how you felt about the subject in your papers! Very easy! Just stay focused also he cares deeply for his students and will go above and beyond to make sure you get that A!

Comment:
Van Stone is a good teacher. However, he forgets a lot of things. For example, he asked "Is this Art 151?" multiple times at the beginning of class throughout the semester. He even forgot to give us a somewhat big assignment (not complaining though). No tests. No quizzes. Many video review papers are expected. The class is boring. Not memorable.

Professor Van Stone is a nice person and gives you a lot of extra credit opportunities. Although, he is very unorganized and his grading criteria and due dates is really not clear. I always felt in the dark when it came to grades. Just turn in what he asks for and communicate with him and you will get an A.

Very boring class unless youre interested in he history of art. Plus, hes a very tough grader and reads everything word by word and wants it perfect. He is very nice though, but for an art class, its tough to get As on simple hw.... I wouldnt reccomend...

Good professor. He is a little disorganized but he definitely knows what he's talking about. Very passionate about his class. Little or no homework at all, and there are lots of extra credit. Interesting lectures, and very easy class. You don't need to do a lot to get an A, as long as you take advantage of the extra credit you'll do fine.

Mr. Van Stone is a nice guy. He's very lenient and intelligent. Check your syllabus for dates regarding assignments. Do all the extra credit you can, he grades on a curve so the more the better. Always cite you're sources. Also I thought I should mention that if you're a religious person, don't attend if you're offended easily.

He knows his art no doubt about that but he is SUPER unorganized ! He does not make his due dates clear, since he doesn't use blackboard or any other website good luck knowing your grade your whole semester (ask him). He does give good extra credit, he does not let you know when your having a test. Don't know if i would take him again

This man is not organized whatsoever. Great with extra credit but the due dates are UNCLEAR. A 10 page paper was assigned but a date was never given, I asked twice and was NOT given an answer. After a third time he randomly decided he wanted it "now", claiming he set a date, that wasn't the case. Save yourself from stress, don't take his class.

Took Prof. Van Stone for Art 150. He is a really nice professor. He's also very approachable and always willing to help. The only thing is that he is very disorganized with the projects. You need to pay close attention to whatever he says because he can ask for a certain assignment in middle of a lecture. Still, I recommend this professor.
