Comment:

She attempts to make the class easy and understandable. Everything that is on the test is not exactly what is in the notes. You are expected to know musical elements that even people who have been studying music for years have a hard time comprehending. Stay away from this professor!

She attempts to teach well but she reads definitions that you must memorize for quizzes (which are more like tests) and expects you to know a lot of terms. You also listen to a lot of musical pieces and must be familiar with them which is challenging. She tries to do her best though, the class is just boring.

I was scared to take lessons from Mary before I actually did. But she is not scary. She's a great flute teacher and I feel like I have improved after the two semesters I've taken with her.

Mary is an extremely talented flautist and will teach you a lot. However, she is not very approachable and scares some of her students. Some people get along with her, but you definitely have to have the right personality to get along with her.
