The class gets challenging as the the semester goes on. Depending on how comfortable you are with math, getting away with a C is not hard. Overall, she is a good professor. She explains everything and encourages students to ask questions. Attend lecture and discussion and study a little bit, then you should be fine.

Go to class to learn, stay after she will stay till u no it. She has no problem helping any and all. All work is online, but if done class is an easy A, i skipped some cause i didn't want to do it and still did good. Easy A if you take ur time. Good teacher.

Mary rice is a really good professer. i took math 075 with kafka and failed. Rice is really helpful, but not an easy test giver. most of the work was on mymathlab but not the tests. i would take her again if it would fit into my schedule. first math class i passed sense high school!

Shes very willing to help. The things covered arent very difficult, but she makes sure to go over everything. Basically, she wants you to have a good undertstanding of math. As long as you keep up with the work on math lab you should pass with flying colors.

Professor Rice is really really nice! She really cares about the students and wants everyone to do well! She calls on people sometimes, but never embarasses you! It felt like a high school class. Just keep up with hw and quizes and youll be fine!

I took this class freshman year and I must say it was pretty difficult. It got to a point during the middle of the semester where I stopped attending lectures and failed. Not a hard class if you have a good attention span. Rice is a very sweet woman who will help you but she does not give you the grade you have to earn it.

I honestly have nothing bad to say about her. I don't know what other people are talking about when they say that she's a really hard professor. I've gone to 2 lectures and 1 discussion this entire semester and I've maintained over 100%. The tests are easy (except exam 2, shes not kidding when she says its hard) and there's always extra credit.

The class itself is a breeze. It's pass/fail. Good teacher, if you need help all you have to do is ask her. But otherwise she doesn't teach, because its a self directed class. You can go as fast as you want, just make sure your keeping up with the schedule.

Comment:

She's really good in having the class participate during lectures. Although boring, she really cares about her students succeding in her class. For exams, she give you more than enough practice, so you can be prepared to take them. Highly recomend her.

I took her course in Fall 2005 and failed. She really cares about the students success but since intermediate algebra is the only course she teaches, she really makes the course harder then it should be. She needs to realize students in these courses have math anxiety. Take kafka you will be better off. Took him in the spring and passed.

Believe it or not I think this lady acturally has feelings. I took math 070 with her in fall of 05, I recieved a F in the class but, I took her again in Fall 06 for 090 and I passed. Rice really cares about her students success.. go to her office hours and get to know her. She is a tough prof but in the long run its all worth it
