Comment:

Heidrich is an incredible teacher. There was a lot of participation required & she can come off as a bit strict/tough but it never came off personal/rude. Expect to learn on your own as well as in class: She won't hold your hand (nor should u expect her to) but she will guide you. Learning a language can make one feel silly but she helps a lot!

Was shocked about the feedback. Prof. Heidrich does hold students to a high standard as she believes success is the result. She inspired me to get a minor in Italian and visit Italy last summer. I would definitely recommend her to students who are serious about learning a new language and culture. Wish more prof were like her, would take her again

Easy to get an A as long as you pay attention in class and do the homework. I would do 2-3 hours of studying before each exam the day before and I would receive mainly As on the exam. The professor is nice and cares about her students as long as you put in some effort. she's really passionate about the course and has a funny sense of humor sometime

Get ready to never know when a quiz will be, she never used canvas or knew our exact grade, she will want you sometimes to guess stuff and will make drama if you have to leave class or dont show up.

The only reason I rated a 2 instead of a 1 is because I actually learned some Italian. However, this is the worst professor I've ever had. She is extremely unorganized and sometimes comes off as just plain rude. She singles people out, doesn't follow the textbook she requires you to get and instead gives you SO many handouts. Stay away.

Terrible. Always late. Crazy grading scale . rude. Embarrasses students for not being able to pronounce an Italian word right the first time they hear it. Makes you go to extra activities outside of class just to be able to get a decent grade. If you have to take this class to with another professor.

She is the worst teacher I have ever had at city. She once clearly said that Latinos are the lowest of the social economic latter in a very smug way. I felt like speaking out, but instead I dropped her class. She has attitude issue. Stay away from her. She expects perfection from you as a student, but doesn't lead my example.

Asked my grade before my homework and assignments were entered, it was a "low D" she never tells you your grade. After I get all A's with all homework and worksheets, my grade was still a "low D" Even though it was suppose to be 20% more. She never tells your grade or keeps track of your things. Her grading is all about if she likes you or not

I'm a bit slow at learning new languages but I picked up Italian very quickly. Great teacher, do the worksheets and you'll pass the class. Tests and everything based off the worksheets! Also buy the book, it's greatly needed!

First college class ever, i put all my focus and effort into doing my best.I missed 2 times but never during tests. She took me aside mid semester and told me she didn't think i'd make it because i missed classes way to much and my test scores were very bad.She never took attendance and my test scores were B average, pretty much gave up on me, Bad!

If you take notes, do the worksheets she gives you, you're bound to pass her tests and class. Her tests are all based on your homework, an exact copy from it along with other things she's taught from the book. She doesn't give much homework and her class is easy.

First semester at City, first laguage class and I love it. The teacher is only about 5-10 min late but she's ALWAYS THERE! She doesn't give attitude but is a bit impatient. Bases her teachings off the book and from her own knowledge of the language. Her lessons are simple to understand, and the tests are challenging. I trully learned Italian.

Very impatient. Her Italian is softly spoken and slurred together.Hard to understand her. She embarrasses you if you dont answer her question correctly.If absent she quickly drops you.Exams are graded on some alien scale that only she understands.She plays favorites.Would not recommend herAT ALL!Uses handouts and always late for class.AVOID..AVOID!

Classwork was not that difficult but her teaching style sux!!! She was very impatient with her class in Italian 101 for not being affluent--Hello? It's Italian 101 & not 501!!! I dont know why people keep leaving negative comments about this teacher. I find this class and this teacher easy to understand. I've taken several language classes and this one teaches it great. Its a fun class, sometimes we go to trips like eat pizza, movies, ice cream etc. I recommend this class, it's a great class

Well, she is not THAT bad. I admit she was kind of different and had a [really] weird grading method. But she was cool, at least with me. She was good with me [almost] all the time and help me through the course. Never have trouble with her, eventhough some people claim i was her favorite, well thats the price 4 having the looks and the brains [jk]
