I have no real reason to dislike the man. I passed his course with flying colors. It was easy or me. I've never had a problem writing an essay or researching a paper. Yet I recall how he treated his students. He felt his course should be designed to fail 50% of the first tme students. He is the apotheosis of bad professors.

Mr. Carney always challenged me and I liked that about him. He loves poetry and he got me interested in it.He was a very interesting person and I liked the way he laughed at himself all the time. I had him as a professor in 1984 and he has left a lasting impression on me that will last a lifetime. Thanks Mr. Carney you changed my life.

Mr. Carney is rude, condescending, and irritating.He takes out his insecurities on almost all of his students, somehow feeling better after making them feel worse.Avoid his classes at all cost.Some teachers are jerks, but you still learn something..Not with Carney.You end up not only learning nothing, but feeling sorry for such a sad & unhappy man.
