Comment:

Will make you question whether or not you are in college; she teaches it like she's teaching a group of kindergarteners . All the content taught is common sense, and she uses outdated information to support her arguments. Dull and boring & you will fall asleep. 2 tests & 2 speeches, that's it. A boy was presenting and she goes, "How much longer?"

Comment:

She is flat out not a good teacher. Reads newspaper clippings from 40 years ago and acts like shes Gods gift to education. Uninspiring, disorganized about how to teach the class, 1 Paper and 1 speech, followed by two test make up your entire grade. Would not recommend, other Rhet101 teachers are more work but better overall.

Hittleman was a nice professor but her test were sometimes very detailed (there's only 2). Her lectures always consists of her talking about communication for 10 min and the remainder is her reading off old newspapers. Theres one paper and 1 presentation and 2 speeches. She's very critical when it comes to the first major speech. Class was boring

Extremely easy professor. She is very down to earth and she teaches more life lessons than material. Her class was very easy and I didnt touch the textbook. She brings in old newspapers and rambles on about them. The speeches and papers are very easy. Her class is a breeze but definitely a snooze sesh.

She is a nice professor and she seems very interested in the course material. The material is pretty simple, and the tests were easy and straightforward. The class also required a paper and a speech, but neither were really difficult and you can give your speech on any topic. Just go to class and you'll be fine. Oh, and don't buy the textbook.

Most boring class I've ever taken. She does nothing but read newspaper clippings that are irrelevant which makes it impossible for anyone to want to go to class. Study and you'll be fine. Just keep in mind that you will want to be asleep EVERY SINGLE class and it's pretty much torture. Her soft/monotone voice doesn't help either.

For a communications professor she is not very good at communicating. Her criticisms border on rude. I wish I hadn't purchased the book because I've never used it. I definitely would not recommend taking oral communications with this professor.

worst teacher i ever came across. she is completely unfair and if u miss a test for a legit reason she makes you take a make up test but tell u u cant really use notes or the book to study. She has something to say about every single speech and things she has the power to say whether the topic is interesting. Avoid her shes a complete moron.

She seems nice at first, but over the semester I found her to be far too blunt and condescending. She does NOT know what the term CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM means-HER critique of a speech you give is more often than not DESTRUCTIVE! She always finds something wrong with your speeches and does not consider the effort you put into them.

She is very conceited, always talking about herself. If you don't like public speeking, don't take her. Other profs give less speeches than her. Her final is a surprise speech, so you you don't want 3 speeches, don't take her. She's rude, and gives mostly negative feedback to all. She barely responds to emails as well. Not a good prof, find another

Seems nice and polite at first, but is condescending. Tells you don't worry about grades, they're not that important. She's unclear about the speeches, because she never hands you anything saying what she wants.

Never used the textbook. Easiest class ever. Ridiculously boring, though. And.. she seems really nice at first, but there's definitely some rudeness underneath that. The entire class made me feel like I sucked at life. Definitely the same feeling as an hour and a half long therapy session.

Extremely nice...she reminded me of my kindergarten teacher. The paper and speeches are easy. the tests are kinda hard but doable and there is no final. This class was the only one i was actually interested in attending at 9 in the morning. Kinda like group therapy.... in a good way

Don't waste your money on the book. The entire class is about obvious concepts such as how your state of emotion can affect how you percieve people's communications. There are many group activities which teach you that people have different opinions, if someone didn't know that. I didn't learn anything from this class.

Class was extremely easy, except for the tests. She doesn't use the book at all but expects you to have read the whole thing. She's a nice lady, but when i went to her office hours she seemed not to care. Innovative class concept utilizing family and teamwork. Fair grades on verbal work.
