His class is strictly note based and very student independent. Everything that he writes on the board you HAVE to write in your notes, and you can use those notes for your exams. If youre not lazy and study, youll be perfectly fine. Theres 3 exams, and 1 essay. The key for this class is not missing so you get all the notes, and ACTUALLY try.

This professor is picky grader, copy his notes word by word & note your grammar, theres not a lot of points to balance out your grade, first exam is the easiest, the other exams are harder but doable! Just pay attention in class even though it might seem like common sense in the beginning! It will help you in the essay. Nice guy but old fashioned

Hates the internet so you wont be able to get ahold of him. Has horrible writing and lecture is boring. All notes on the board are your midterms.

If you want to fail a class this is it. He is so unprofessional, rude, and non specific to his course criteria. He is old and dislikes phone usage to even laptops. When it comes to his tests the only thing easy abut it is remembering the definitions it is open note but sometimes that doesn't even help you during the tests. Don't go into his class.

This class was really easy but Professor Houts is very boring. He lectures and gets off topic A LOT I feel like I didn't learn anything in this class. There's 3 exams that are open note and 1 essay COPY EVERYTHING HE PUTS ON THE BOARD you'll pass the exams.

Professor Houts was cool at first, but mid semester he became one of the rudest/meanest teachers. Hates technology, and goes on repetitive rants. His writing is sloppy, so make sure to sit in the front and pay attention because whatever he writes down he will say out loud. 3 tests open notes, & 1 essay (unclear about grading). Class will be a drag.

He's very old fashioned and likes to talk about stuff and gets off topic, mention Black Sabbath and he'll love you. Pretty much everything is open notes and COPY EVERYTHING ON THE BOARD AS HE WRITES IT, there are 4 tests. Don't get the textbook because he uses his own definitions.

prof Houts is an old fashioned professor and takes his time teaching concepts. There is no homework in this class and he lets you use your notes on his exams. WRITE DOWN THE NOTES WORD FOR WORD. USE HIS DEFINITIONS ONLY NOT THE AUTHORS. also, make his day and laugh at his jokes, even if you dont understand them. it puts him in a better mood

Professor Houts is very old fashioned. Expect all assignments to be handwritten. He hates technology, don't be caught using your phone during his class or he will definitely call you out. Make sure to write down everything he writes on the board. All tests were open notes. Easy A if you come to class. You'll be lost if you skip class

Professor Houts is an elderly gentlemen, and he gets distracted very easily. He goes off topic for a majority of the class, and all of his notes are written on a chalkboard in messy handwriting. Two tests, a paper, and a final were given. His directions are never clearly stated, and he is a very hard grader. I would avoid taking his class.

I wouldnt recomend this professor, he takes away to many points for no good reason. Always use his definitions for his paper or he will remove half the points. Also removes half the points for inproper spelling. Somewhat rude to his students.

Here is how to get an A in Houts' class: GO TO EVERY CLASS. Its boring, I know, whatever, deal with it. IF he writes something on the board, DEFINITELY write it in your notes! Keep your notes ORGANIZED! On test day, come prepared WITH YOUR NOTES! His tests have been directly from the notes since like FOREVER. His class has been the same FOREVER!

The reviews are generally correct. He expects you to attend class, take verbatim notes, but he tests you open notes so if you do as he openly expects, easy A. He has a grudge versus slow people buried in their phones which can be refreshing and hilarious. Overall good guy.

This guy's only concern is going back to the 1960s. Everyday that you come to class he's talking about how technology "ruins" the younger generation so he makes you handwrite everything. Overall I'd say he's pretty easy, but is always concerned with trivial things when he's grading. I wouldn't recommend taking him.

This class was generally pretty easy. Everything he writes on the board will be on a quiz at some point. There were 3 quizzes and an essay format final. He doesn't take attendance but being in class is important because information from every lecture is on the quiz, so at least get the notes from someone. He can be pretty boring but it's an easy A.
