First of all, I have to say I didn't get a good grade from this course but I did learned a lot from Prof Saligrama. Relative strong background in probability and DSP is required for this course. Professor does know his stuff on DSP and machine learning. However, it will be thrill if he can put more time and effort into teaching this course .

This guy knows everything about the material, but is pretty terrible at teaching it. If you don't get it, don't expect him to help. He doesn't encourage students to come to office hours, and when you do, he's pretty condescending about helping you through any problems. He actually told me he doesn't care if I do well or not. What a piece of work.

Prof. Saligrama knows his stuff, through and through. SC515 is an extremely difficult class, but he teaches it well. Saligrama sometimes has trouble bringing the material down to the level of someone who isn't comfortable with the maths involved, but that's mostly the material. If you didn't do well at the prereqs, you'll struggle with this class.

Course is extremely hard. However, the teacher makes it look very easy. You learn new things and see the material in new ways even if you have already taken a related course.

This guy really knows his stuff, and it shows. Unfortunately, he really has no clue how to teach it. He also expects you to know everything before going to class. He's an easy grader though.
