Dr Dorow gives excellent lectures & dresses chicly! Attendance is important to do well. She made the content really interesting by integrating videos & debates in class. Easy to reach & helpful outside of class. Her respectful, kind nature encouraged me to participate in class discussion for the first time ever! Midterm, short op-ed essay and final

Very textbook heavy but the readings really do help to understand the material that's being taught. Go to class and do the readings and you'll do just fine. Really interesting lectures and she makes the material accessible to the lives of those in the class. Would highly recommend

honestly, made soc 271 way harder than it needed to be. going to class was brutally boring but necessary in order to understand the readings. (2 long readings every week)

Such a boring class, must read the textbook cover to cover to get a passing grade, does not post powerpoints before class.

VERY interesting class. Good material, and Dr Dorow is a VERY good prof. There were lots of readings, but it wasn't a bad workload if you stayed on top of it. Marked hard and stressed in class material use. Attending lectures was pretty much essential to passing, but lectures were always interesting.

Really good prof! Lectures sometimes drag on but she is very fair and friendly! There is a lot of reading in the class, but you can fake your way through it. I would suggest taking a class with her if you can.

Comment paper to present, attendance counts when called upon that week. Pretentious when approached. Engaging lectures, but too many articles and chapters to read for a 200 level course (7 ch's and aprox. 15 lrg articles + lec's for the first midterm) Beware- acts like this is your only class.

Very interested in what students have to say. If you take a CSL course from her you get marks for volunteering outside of class and it can be realy eye opening. If you don't like to talk it may not be the best choice for you, but there are no wrong answers in this class.
