Scott is a wealth of knowledge, experience and insight. I still can't comprehend how he knows so much/does so much and is still so grounded, approachable and giving! He is incredibly articulate. You'll learn and grow ten fold in just a ten week class. If you want to "design like you give a d@mn", Scott will help you find your way.

The class was Sustainable Practices in design. Prof. Boylston is extremely passionate about both design and sustainability and he understands both concepts deeply as well as how they should intersect. He was able to embed a passion for this in all of us, truly inspiring a change in our day-to-day behavior, personally and professionally.

Scott is probably my favorite professor I have had at SCAD, and I have had a lot of professors. He is so passionate about what he's teaching, and I learn something new almost every time I speak with him. I would highly recommend Scott as a professor to all of my peers - I already have! Very understanding person and gives a good challenge in class

I've been working in the industry for the past 4 years. Scott is one of the greatest professors I've ever had in my life. He is a thinker and a transformer, he'll develop you more than you imagined, pushing you in the direction that your strengths lie. He'll take you off auto-pilot. His guidance has become an integral part of my success. Take him.

His teaching style is really improvised and seems thrown together. Nothing is really clear and the curriculum doesn't make any sense. Unfortunately, he doesn't have alot to offer. I didn't learn anything I couldn't have read in a book.

Really only interested in his personal ecology and recycling issues. Every assignment based on that in other classes as well. No graphic design info, but lots about recycling plastic and "educating" stupid clients who simply want a business card designed. Nice guy, but why is he attached to Graphic Design?

Did not learn much in this class. Boylston also has an "indifferent" attitude towards teaching. If you follow the rules, don't challenge anything and use helvetica on everything you will get an A. Anything else is above his head and he will not understand it.

Fantastic professor. Extremely helpful and also very demanding (which i think is great). Most of my best work came out of his classes. Plus his teaching methods are empowering and mind opening!!! He always has honest advice and a high sense of socially responsible design.
