Terrible teacher. Great guy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I hope he retires soon because I think he is just out of his element. Computers are a mystery to him and you can tell he isn't comfortable teaching once we have to use anything remotely technological. Really great guy but I think that it is time that the Economics department let him go.

Schmidt is a terrible teacher for intro. He's a really nice guy, but has no idea how to teach the material. Class was so boring and uninformative. I struggled to pay attention. The final exam was ridiculously in-depth.

Definitely the worst teacher I have had at Union thus far. Classes are pointless to attend because he doesn't know how to explain anything. His monotone voice also puts me to sleep. I taught myself the whole course through the online Aplia textbook. This class has made me never want to take another economics course again

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Probably a brilliant economist but does not know how to explain it to an intro class. Tests and assignments are extremely difficult and he doesn't explain them in class. You have to read the textbook front to back to do well. If you think you might enjoy economics, don't take it with Shelton

The guy really is boring. If you are an insomniac, come take a course with him, because he puts me to bed. Tough to stay awake in class. Exams are short with only 4-5 questions but at times he does give you the benefit of the doubt

Shelton is insane. He rants and raves and doesn't teach a thing. I really did not enjoy his class at all. His lectures were EXTREMELY repetitive and put me to sleep. I could have learned more if I never went to class at all.
