Comment:

Steve was a great teacher. He was helpful even when I had questions after class. He is a total sweetheart. He'll spend time to help explain any concepts I didn't understand. Review his notes and you're going to do well. Make sure you do read the book as it does supplement his notes. study ahead of time to know what questions to ask. I got a 4.0.

Comment:

Steve is the sweetest, most helpful professor you will ever meet. It's not an easy class, but that has nothing to do with him, it's the material that every physiology class must cover. He will set time aside to help you if you need it, even if he has to go out of his way to come to school on a day he doesn't teach. Absolutely get him if you can.

Such a great professor! It is possible to get the grade you want in the class when you take the time to study. Tests are based off objectives so be sure to study those. He is very helpful and will never talk down to you like a baby. Always willing to answer your question and makes sure you understand the material.

A high 3.something is totally possible. What messed me up were the lab quizzes. I didn't study for 2 of them (each worth 15 pts) and I missed my high 3. gpa boat! If I had just gotten those 15 pts on the 2 quizzes, I would have easily received a 3.7 or higher. The exams are based off objectives. They are somewhat tricky.

The exams are exactly what he says they're based on: Objectives. Don't bother buying the book (Vanders). He'll cover most of what you need to know in class, otherwise he's great one-on-one in office hrs., or reference the books in the science study center. Goetz was an ok teacher & a 4.0 is def possible, but I wasn't as impressed as other reviewers

Great instructor. Steve knows his stuff! Took the course online. His lecture notes are clear and you can use them on exams. As long as you take the class seriously, you will do great.

Took on-line. Read the lectures, do ALL the study questions and you'll get an A. Quiz and test questions are taken directly off the study questions with no tricks. Best teacher so far at SCC. Wish I needed more courses that he teaches.

Best Teacher I have ever had. He really wants the students to understand the material and will gladly take the time to explain objectives in detail during office hours. He is really a great person and teacher. He provides lecture notes and the tests are 100% based off these notes and given objectives. the amount of material is also reasonable.

Steve is by far the best teacher I have ever experienced in my college years. He talks at your level, repeats things often, and if he feels you don't understand something he stays on it. When in his office he is amazing at explaining things. Take this teacher. If you do the course objectives and understand them this class is an easy A.

Had this teacher for online class and he was very difficult. Fill in the blank should NEVER be used in a entry level biology exams or quizzes. asked for help and was useless. grading scale is not correct.

THIS IS THE WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!. His Bio 170 class online is useless. His need for control of class material needed for test is incomprehensible. This the first teacher I have had to continually ask for the assignments ahead of time. He cannot write! His written lectures are so horribly written. AVOID THIS TEACHER!!!

He is the BEST professor ever! He loves what he teaches and wants to share it with you! Make sure you focus on memorizing all the notes and objectives and you will do well in this class! DO NOT NEED BOOK! I literally opened it twice ever and it's expensive! TAKE THIS CLASS! He is wonderful! :)

What an AMAZING teacher! Like everyone else has said, he really loves what he does and wants you to also! I really love how he teaches! This class is hard, but what else would you expect? Study your notes every day and you will succeed. Great class!

Great Teacher! I was struggling in this class, but after going to his office hours I could really tell he wanted me to succeed. Gave me all the extra help I needed and ended up doing decently. Have never had another teacher that willing to help his students. He will answer all questions and is really excited about physiology & wants you to be too.

Best Biology Professor at Shoreline. He has been teaching for 30+ years, he knows the content and WANTS you to learn it. Always answers questions without making you feel stupid for asking. His tests are strictly scantron multiple choice. Do the objectives and keep up with the lecture and you will do well.

He is one of the best science instructors ever! The exams are hard, but he gives lots of other ways to make up points. He is very organized and helpful. Don't miss a class. He covers everything in lectures that you need to know for the exams.

Awesome, awesome prof! He is organized, helpful, clear and nice. I dreaded this class, but I enjoyed the class becuz of him. It is a very hard subject, but if you have any questions just go to his office and he'll explain it all. Answer all the objectives and you will ace the tests. He also gives lots of free points and xtra credit. He's the best.

VERY nice, caring teacher. Has a genuine passion for his students and his subject. Relates the stuff to real life situations, so what you're learning is actually relevant. Tests are hard..you really need to know your stuff. He actually makes biology interesting to learn. Just do the labs, study, attend lecture..you'll be fine.
