Comment:

If you want a professor that'll genuinely make you excited to go to class, this is the guy. He gives you study guides exactly like the quizzes/tests and walks you through all the answers so there's no confusion. If you study before the tests, you'll be just fine. On top of that, he's quite the character and creates a fun atmosphere.

He is a chilly professor. He is one of the best professor that Ive ever taken. The class is hard and you have to work very hard. NO need to buy the book. All the quizzes its coming from study guides. Highly recommend it to take his class.

Losers stay away. Doc Putnam is for winners and trying students only. He will spoon feed you the math process and good technique. This class is for students who are fond of the arithmetic discipline. Im normally a B student but I landed an A by genuinely improving my skills. No textbook needed. Group work, quizzes, and broken up exams. Thanks Doc.

Comment:

The class is very laid back, and for every test he gives you the question sheets before hand and you all work on the test in class together before the actual test. There are a few variations of the same concept he can give you on the test, but if you know it it's easy. Great teacher, would recommend.

Avoid this professor at all costs. I'm usually pretty understanding, but this has got to be the worst teacher I've ever had. His class is extremely difficult, he refuses to teach anything, doesn't give notes (just does the homework on the board) and will give you test problems you've never seen before. coming from someone who is decent at math...

Hes a super chill professor. And will help on quizzes and exams when youre stuck and they are exactly like his practice problems. Doesnt use a textbook so you have to print out the lecture problems from canvas. The only downfall is that he doesnt allow calculators on quizzes nor exams so make sure youre algebra skills are perfect.

His teaching style is fairly abstract, which is helpful in truly understanding mathematics in the long run. However, the conceptuality can definitely make the material more difficult to understand if you aren't much of an analytical thinker. He gives study guides for all tests and quizzes, so long as you devote time, you'll pass.

this teacher is the worst math teacher i've ever taken. he teaches so fast and doesn't really explain, he just does the problems. tried going to his office hours but he is no help. there is 3 mid-terms, a quiz every week, and homework everyday which YOU have to print from canvas. i do not recommend him at all!

I regret ever taking his class. There is soo much hw and I spent $100 for this class, u have to do everything on mymathlab. There is a 2 week free trial. After trial is over, u have to pay in order to have access to the homework, quizzes, and midterms. I wish a dropped this class sooner, got a W but better than not passing and having my gpa drop.

I have had to spend more money on a tutor that I have the entire semester. If you need to see how numbers move DONT TAKE HIM. He explains math way too abstractly and simply cant be bothered to thoroughly explain the math. He explains math too abstractly. If math is not something that comes naturally to you take someone else.

Worst professor that you could take in college. All he does is go over homework problems in class. He doesn't actually teach. No one in class even pays attention to him. Not even half of the class shows up anymore. Do not take this professor. You will not learn anything.

This class is a joke. No one in class takes notes we just sit and stare as he "teaches" and has horrible jokes. He does your homework problems in class. No in class quizzes or test. Dont know how he still works here. Being honest here but he should be fired. If you think you'll learn anything in this class you wont.

Be prepared to not only spend money on the units but also $100-$120 on the access code to the online math portion and it is mandatory. I ended up spending closer to $400 on ONE class considering the units, calculator, and access code. He is a ghost when it comes to office hours help, oh and, doesn't reply to emails, ever.

Great teacher, well paced material. Grades very fairly. In class group work. Keeps very regular office hours and is available to answer questions. Suggests textbooks (not mandatory), but his online exercises and Lecture notes are more than enough.

This was an online class that I took but he still held lectures for 2 1/2 hours. I only showed up twice mainly because I was already comfortable with the material. You will spend MUCH time online doing tests and practice lessons. You don't get a book for the class so the only way to pass is either go in for lectures or teach yourself.

Lecture was going over every question on the homework. Attendance was not mandatory unless you aren't caught up with homework. Homework unlimited, quizzes 5 tries and midterms 3 tries. All quizzes and exams had the same questions from the homework. MET roughly 50% of your grade. He can be confusing with how he explains things but tries. Fast paced.

Very organized. He hardly uses the textbook and gives you practice tests that are formatted exactly as the test is and his lecture help you a lot with them. Doesnt let you use calculators on the memorization part of his tests and sort of grades your curve graphs subjectively. Never gives homework. He is very approachable when you need help.
