Great class but Mr. Woods made it harder than it actually is because he reads everything off his notes making it boring and lifeless. He reads his lecture fast and does not like to repeat himself and it shows. I did not worry about being on time for class because he was always late. Adolescent Pysch. Okay first off everyone who says hes a horrible teachers says that because they dont want to go to class, you never use the book,its all his lecture notes, which he WILL repeat if you ask. Just make sure u have a good eraser for tests, and i NEVER NEVER studied more than 2 hours before the exam, lowest score 86.

Adolescent Psych. I can see why people think he's arrogant. He seems a little condescending sometimes. You don't need the book at all but you need to be in class and take notes. All the material is relevant, easy & is also covered on each exam (which he handwrites). If you can make it to class and can deal with his attitude, you'll do fine.

Horrible! I wouldn't recommend to anyone. He instructed us to buy the book, yet we NEVER used it! The whole first 3weeks of school we covered material that wasn't even in the textbook and yeah, we were tested on it all.His attitude was very arrogant. He only gave 3 exams and that is how your grade is calculated. The whole class is all notetaking.

Tommy Woods certainly lived up to his reputation. I have never experienced a professor with such disregard for his student's learning experience as he. He is elusive, rude and downright nasty. If you are able to follow his lectures and take organized notes, you will be okay, but don't expect to enjoy his course. I don't know why UHD or TSU keep him

I was so psyched about taking the African American Issues in Psychology class and thought he was a good teacher since he taught at TSU as well. He taught the class in such as clinical, emotionally detached way that I don't feel I got as much as I could out of the class. Only Psy class i made a C in.
