If you get a chance to take Neely for ANYTHING, do it. Particularly a preaching course. His passion and intelligence are clear in what he teaches, and you will learn to become a better communicator. It might challenge some to come out of their shell, but worth every second. I regretted the times I wasn't well enough to come to class. Incredible.

His classes are always amazing! I always leave with a smile! His grading is a bit tough. IF YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO CAPTIVATE AN AUDIENCE TAKE HIM. He will not allow you to read a paper and call it preaching. I am thankful that there is teachers like him at Moody! He is a humble but yet brilliant man

Daily quizzes from textbooks. He expects everyone to be extroverted actors and live up to high standards for imagination and flashy poetic language. He doesn't empathize with nor consider the personality of the student with any legitimacy. If you're struggling it's your fault for not being faithful to the emotion of the text. Take Torgesen.

He's very passionate and everyone wants him, but the lecture time could have been used a bit mroe efficiently. I think I learned mroe from downloadable structured ppoints than the lectures. I also struggled w/the validity of the principles behind these sermon forms. "Read between the lines" and stage-acting in the pulpit don't feel right...

Dr Neely is FUN and AMAZING and is the most amazing preacher Ever. He loves his students and helps them discover themself in Christ while encouraging them to strive for more. He still stops me in the SDR to say hi. =)

A man of integrity. He has taught me more about practical ministry than anyone here on campus. Take him if you ever get the chance (women and men). He's phenomenal.
