If you wish to take a course that will really help you in future to get decent jobs in networks and system, take Dr. Shoja's course. The hardwork that he expects from you and that you do pays off in the end. I am telling this through experience. This course is NOT for lazybums like some of the other people who commented.

Oh, come on. While he's not about to hand you an A without a decent amount of work, Dr. Shoja's really a pretty decent prof who will teach you an awful lot, provided you take interest. Tests are fair and tend to draw from the assignments. Nice guy outside of class too. Good guy to take 450 with.

If you care about the material and can pay attention, he has a wealth of information to offer. Sure, it's all in the textbook, but his presentation of it helps pound it in. If you are interested in Networking / Multimedia, take these courses from him.

Total jerk. Don't take a course with him even if your life depended on it. He expects you to have the text memorised, and sticks to the rules of the university religiously, which makes for a **** teacher. Avoid at all costs.

He seems to have very old minded ways, for example - Miss 3 or more classes (he takes attendance) and he will deregister you - He takes things very personally therefore if he sees you sleeping in class then don’t ever expect him to help you with quest

HORRIBLE!!! umm.. uhh.. err.. uhh.. Tests are totally unfair, lectures are useless (study the text inside-out). Labs are fun, if u like to program. Good course, horrible prof.

While he is very knowledgable, his lectures are extremely boring. Take it with another prof if you get the chance!
