He is a poor lecturer whom skips most of his steps and explains his examples poorly. For my math methods class he gave hours of homework (15+) with only a week to complete it. Often he would give this homework late and only a week before his exams. In addition, he claims you'll be tested on homework but gives problems not related to homework.

Shylnov is nice when I've talked to him outside class. Unfortunately, not a good teacher - he spends much class time relaying nonsense anecdotes (1 ft was the average of a village's feet, FDR said he was a jelly roll, etc.). I took Phys C in HS and have been doing fine skipping useless lectures and skimming the book before quizzes.

Great guy and even better professor. Thoroughly enjoyed learning physics from him. He got his PhD from a very accredited university in Europe and it shows. Explanations may seem complex at first in their vagueness, but with practice and efficient textbook usage in tandem with the practice problems in class, your physics abilities skyrocket ;)

I LOVED TAKING PHYSICS E&M with Dr. Shylnov! He is amazing, funny, and really good. He cares about his students and his lectures are great. I totally recommend this class if you want to learn E&M. I am so glad I took E&M with Shylnov. I learned so much! Best physics experience ever for me.

This professor is not helpful and requires in exams problems that are way harder than the few ones he solves in class. My advice: study in the ARC or by yourself outside the classroom. Always keep studying and try to do good in the beginning of the course because it gets a lot harder towards the end.

Took his class FALL 2007. Class is fairly simple if you took high school physics and retained most of the information. Lectures are fairly boring with a few solved examples. Quizzes every Thursday - most were pretty simple if you understood what was going on. 2 midterms weren't bad at all; the final was a bit tougher only bc of the material covered

If you do your work and treat him with respect, he'll respect you. You get the grade you deserve, he doesn't give out freebies so don't whine when he gives you a D if you didn't do the work or if you didn't study for the tests. He expects you to know the material, as should every professor.

Great professor, tells funny stories. Quiz every Thursday, you may not get good grades on the first couple but he drops the lowest 2 quiz grades. Tests are very similar to quizzes, so they're a good indication of how you're doing in the class before the test comes. My only complaint is that quizzes are 30% of your grade.

Don't take classes with this professor. He spends most of the class time manipulating formulas making them more difficult to understand than they are. If you go talk to him about your grade, don't even bother since he doesn't care crap about you. He's basically saying, "Whether you do good or bad in my class is none of my concern. $$ is though."

He is a russian teacher with a funny russian accent. Always gets through needed material and tests off problems he does in class. If you can tolerate his stories I recommend taking this class. He's the Borat you never had. VERY NICE.

TAs are disconnected from yuri. Dont really know what they are doing. Very fast, cannot efficiently analyze material therefor material cannot be taught. Here is a schedule: New Material presented on tues, quizzed on thurs + new material + new material...& repeat. Not flexible on credit, no extra credit, no normalization even if avg is a D..........

Very fast. Many word problems. Needs calc II preq. Book is Ok-to-Bad. Problems = non universal. Subject is presented in uninteresting fashion. Lang. barrier. Words stressed instead of sent. Doesn't understand that students have other classes and priorities. Will not refresh basic concepts. Expects students to know a lot.

Professor is very funny and entertaining. Sometimes difficult to understand (it helps to already know the material and have this course as a refresher :). In home country, after final we take dog out back and shoot. "Awesome! Totally awesome!"
