I try to take every class I can with Dr. Kugler. She is amazing and is so interesting to listen too. She is willing to do whatever she can to help you succeed. She mixes her class up, so it is not all lecture and gets everyone involved. I learned to much from her and she makes me so happy to see that women have a place in the field of history.

Really amazing professor. She's tough but fair and willing to help. You absolutely have to read and study, and she wants you to participate, but it is definitely possible to do well if you put the work in. The course was a bit hard for a 100-level. However, she seems to really care about the success of her students.

Doesn't take attendance, gives a lot of credit for class participation, and gives study guides for the exams. Basically, be involved during class, and you should be fine. The only real downside to this class is the quizzes are difficult to study for just because it's hard to predict what will be on them. I plan on taking her again in the future.

Hard to understand sometimes b/c she talks kind of fast. Didn't like that for the first part of the course, there was no textbook. She gave us 5 very thick handouts that we had to interpret and know what was going on based off of the handouts, then we were quizzed on the handouts. Generous grader though

She's the best prof I've had at JCU so far. She really knows her stuff, and she'll help you become a better writer if you're conscientious about the work she assigns. Expect to sweat a little. It's worth it.

Pros Kugler was very energetic and outgoing. There was a lot of reading and note taking but the class was really easy if you came to class and participated. Participation is a good part of the grade so read and talk and you'll get an A.

God bless Anne Kugler, I did OK in her class. She was nice and willing to help me out. But she's a little bit too enthusiastic for FYS. She seemed to actually care about what we did, which is not good for FYS. Overall a nice lady and a good teacher.
