Great professor! Really knows his material. Quiz and hw due most weeks. Exams are tough. Gave lots of extra credit and gave extra time on the final. If you work for it, you can def get an A. Its a hard class, so dont skip lecture!

He was very bad at explaining the concepts. He gave very few examples to help us understand, and oftentimes, the quiz and homework questions were on concepts that were not explained in class.

Dr. G's lecture consisted of him writing convoluted proofs on the board for the entirety of the lecture without a single example problem to help us understand the material. It was as if his goal was to prove to us that he knew how to do physics and didn't care if we also learned.

He loves what he does, and gave fair tests that challenged students that were less familiar with physics. Cares a lot about truly understanding the material, so will spend a lot of time proving things rather than actually teaching the test materials. Always told me to talk to other majors when I tried getting help from him. Cool and smart guy.

Dr. G is passionate about physics & teaching however tests were very difficult & graded hard. If you are concerned about your GPA take a different prof. Must read the book, participate & absolutely must show up to class. Hmwk problems are not turned in or graded but you MUST do them ALL to pass. Half my class dropped & half of remaining failed!

Dr. G has a big passion for physics. That's partly the problem. He expects a lot from his students. He treats them like Physics majors when that is definitely not the case. Three exams and a final exam make up your exam. Everyone did so badly that he had to add EC quizzes. His lectures are fast and demanding. Ask questions and read the textbook!

Comment:
He was the hardest professor to understand and follow during lecture as he tends to stray from the main point. If you want to pass his class, you must do the suggested homework problems because those are most of the problems he puts on exams. Don't skip lecture because one problem from class is usually on the exam. You need to learn independently.

he can make U CAN ACE MCAT PHYS he knows his stuff but you HAVE TO STUDY the textbook before entering class Also his methods sometimes throws you off because he takes a different approach to solve problem If you are good at math you wont have much problem if you know your stuff If u dont have a mathematical mind then try a different teacher

Loved Dr. G. He is an astonishingly intelligent man who has a passion for teaching Physics. If you are looking for a guaranteed GPA boost, he is not your professor(but then again you will not find a guaranteed GPA boost in Physics ever). He mixes in life lessons to his lectures which are funny and inspirational. One of LUC's best professors.

I loved Dr G, he really spent time with students when they needed help. He also taught the material very well. It was extremely trying but if you put in the effort to STUDY ALOT and use his office hours you will do well. Form small study groups and meet daily, we did and my group did remarkably well and sincerely improved our grades due to it.

Very good class. It is sometimes hard to hear him due to his accent but he knows his stuff. I would Recomend you know a decent amount of math before you take this class though.

Dr. G. is one of the smartest professors I have ever met. He knows what he is doing in all of his lectures. However, to do well you have to study like crazy. He pushes his students and really wants them to be better physicists. His exams are difficult, but if you study all the assigned homework you'll be ready.

Dr.G is brilliant and really loves the material(sometimes to the detriment of his clarity in explaining), which shows. Fascinating class. Never took AP Calc or Physics and pulled around an A-. You'll need to study a lot.

Physics majors have to take Dr. G but he is definately one of the best instructors at the university. The class can be difficult but if you visit him in his office hours he will make sure you understand the material. Highly recommended, take any class you can with him. You'll be a better scientist for it.

Not a good teacher. Weekly homework, two quizzes per week. Class is 4 days a week, and he almost always finishes the lecture 5 minutes late. Does not explain concepts in easy to understand ways. He is very smart, but is a worse teacher because of it.

Before you write him off because of the difficulty factor, know that yes, his class is difficult. But he is a wonderful teacher with a love of physics and education who tries to pass this along to his students as much as possible. He prepares you so much for later classes by making his class so difficult. If you put in the work, you can do well.

Dr. G is the professor that made me realize my love for physics. I really struggled, as the material was presented in a more calc-based way and his explanations were more elegant and intricate, but he is extremely kind and caring and was ready to help me succeed every step of the way. Inspirational and kind-hearted man!

Dr G is one of the best professor on campus in my opinion. As you may know he is the dept chair of the physics department and he has created the department into a family. He is ALWAYS willing to help yo with ANYTHING you may need. Hands down, take his class.

Gonna say right now that for me the class was easy because I already had it AP. Don't believe the comments. Most homework takes half an hour to an hour if you know what your doing. Even if you know physics, he'll explain it in ways you have never seen which are interesting. Did a TERRIFIC explanation of calculus also, even though I took it before

Nice person, wants you to succeed. Towards the middle of the semester things started slipping and he taught the last 5 chapters rather poorly. Dr. G's class also takes up a lot of time so dont take too many difficult courses at once with this. Its 4 days a week with lecture alone and he gives a lot of hw. Expect to learn more from the book
