Comment:

Johnson is the BEST. He is so sweet and caring, and always comes to class with a big smile on his face. Our class asked many dumb questions, yet he answered each one patiently, making sure that each student left knowing the material. He truly cares, and he guided us every step of the way in an otherwise difficult subject area. I will miss him a lot

Comment:

Really funny, solid professor. Easy to follow lecture style and very to the point about his material and how to solve problems. Made statistics about as fun as it could be by analyzing "widgets" and potato chips and the 2016 election. I only had to take 1 math class but I would choose him again!

Prof Johnson is, in my opinion, the best professor out there. He's extremely clear in lecture, and is more than willing to go step by step throughout each and every process. For calculus 2 he gave us one free sheet of notes (Awesome!) yet his exams were very tough. Overall, an amazing guy. Go to office hours!

Johnson is the best. His lectures are so in depth and clear, you never find yourself asking "How did he get that?" or "What did he just do." All his stuff is online so if you need to see it again or skip, you're in the clear. Kinda a harsh grader and there's no curve but his tests are pretty close to the practice test and they aren't very hard.

Although homework can be quite long, and the tests can be a bit difficult, it's worth taking his class. He is very nice and helpful. Even out of his office hours, he is there for you. Go to lectures, do the homework, and ask questions and you will surely pass the class :)

Professor Johnson is one of the greatest teachers ever. He explains the material really well. If you pay attention his class and his tests are really easy. Missed a class? Don't worry about it because his lectures are all online on myWPI. And most importantly his practice tests are a really good reflection of his actual test.

Course can be challenging but all the hard work paid off really well. All of the coursework help a lot in revision of knowledge. Required MyMathLab, but other than that you will be very good in Math if you take him and do all the work.

This dude is the man. Highly recommend taking the gentle giants class. Very helpful outside of class and his lectures are clear and concise if you pay attention. Homework can be a bit lengthy but overall great experience.

Professor Johnson was my by far my favorite professor this term. He's a really nice guy, plus his notes are very clear and formatted extremely well. The homework he assigns is very helpful, exams are a fair test of the material, and he is a generous grader.

Comment:

Good teacher, very nice and helpful. He speaks loudly which I appreciated and takes time to explain things. He records all of his lectures and allows a note sheet on tests. The tests are difficult if you're not good at doing basic math in your head, but there are no surprises. Do the homework and you will be fine.

Comment:

Johnson is a clear lecturer and his tests are straightforward. He's a doll- very approachable. I recommended his class to my friends who hadn't yet taken Calc III. It has moderate difficulty, nothing to complain or rave about- just the average.

Professor Johnson takes simple concepts, and spends an hour making everything more complicated. He teaches Calc III in the opposite order as other teachers (Starts with parametrics, then polar, then sequences and series). Lectures are confusing, homework is unnecessarily hard. He allows a notes sheet on tests, but they are still almost impossible.

I really liked Professor Johnson for calc 4. He makes sure to get to know everyones name and his office hours are fantastic! Before our last exam, he originally offered to have them for 2 hours but was willing to help us for longer. He allows you to use a note sheet on all the exams and that helps a lot. I never used the textbook though

Hardest calc teacher I had all year. Tests are extremely hard and you never have enough time to finish. Lectures are very confusing and do not correlate to to the test. Would not recommend for calc 4.

Had him for MA1023 and MA 1024. Super nice guy. Very clear with explanations. If you attend class, do the homework and attempt the practice test. This class will be very easy for you. Highly recommend.
