Prof has gone downhill in the quality of his lectures. He rarely provides answers to in class problems and we are left questioning what the answers are. Dont bother to go to office hours he wont answer your questions or provide any feedback.

The class was a breeze until the final. Show up, do the homework, participate. The final is cumulative and very tricky in its wording / structure. Try to prepare your grade as much as possible before taking the final, because it will not help your grade at that point. Participate in class so he knows you care.

Comment:

A nice guy who is hard to follow, has awful handwriting, moves much too fast, and should think about restructuring his lectures and homework assignments. He could invest in online homework for students to fall back on. While he is enthusiastic, I didn't feel there was much and had a horrible time. A major disappointment.

The class introduced interesting managerial topics beyond the usual accounting calculations.The professor certainly knows his stuff, however sometimes, especially for projects, he'd give ambiguous explanations and leave it on the student to ponder over assignments. Also, his final is quite difficult (cumulative).

He is one of the best profs at AU, he's passionate about the accounting. He is encouraging and helps out a lot. He is an extremely hard grader and the final exam is vast and hard. Going to class and staying on top of course work is very important

He's one of the best professors in the Accounting Department. He teachers the materials you need to know in an easy format and then reviews it in the next class. He's not like Jacoby where you can just memorize the study guide and get an A on the test, but if you do so, you'll still get a fair grade.

He is the hardest professor I have ever come across, however I learned more in his class than I have in any other undergraduate level course in my college career. Do not be ashamed to hire a tutor. Work hard, show up to class, and do the homework.

you have to be willing to put in the time and effort otherwise you will do poorly. Be prepared to do a lot of work. It is not complex stuff but he will always help you understand. It was one of my most difficult classes but the professor's teaching style made it worth it. Not an easy A

Prof Duru is the man, get on his good side and you will be fine. He is a pretty fair grader and his exams are not very tough if you just study the review packets. Each chapter he teaches he has one concept he wants you to know - know this and you are fine. Overall, very nice guy and decent professor. He is very excited about accounting.

Duru is a very enthusiastic professor, but a horrible teacher. He has trouble explaining concepts and welcomes questions but then scolds questioners. After discussing my final grade that was lower due to the final he said that I was "too smart" for his class and that I should just trust him that he corrected my exam properly.

he's a very good prof.explains well. but its a LOT of work...atleast 7-8hrs per week.And, his final exam is UNTOUCHABLE !!!!! its the hardest exam after the CPA exam for an accounting student!! Thats how hard it is!! And, I kid you not when i say ITS VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HARD!!!!!!!!

Dr. Duru is not only the coolest prof. in the accounting department, but he loves accounting more than anything. He is an awesome teached and coming from someone who hates accounting, I almost wanted to major in it because of Duru. He has a way of making accounting fun, if you can believe that. Accounting fun???? Well with Dr. D it is...Loved it.

Duru is crazy, but he loves accting more then anyone I have ever met and is extremely knowlegible about the subject. YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK!!! The class is hard, but as long as you put in the time and effort you will be fine and he is always there if you need him for help.
