Dr. Dennehy is amazing. My classes with him were mostly seminars of about ten students, whih were awesome. I also had the opportunity to take part in his larger classes, and hope that I can still call him friend.

Very easy class. Three tests throughout that you can get an easy A on if you read!! He even gives you the questions ahead of time, for crying out loud! The man himself is very nice and obviously passionate about the content; however, he does make his conservative views well-known. Don't argue with him and you'll be just fine; watch others do that.

Professor Dennehy is the worst professor. Very rude and will only give you a good grade if you agree with his views. Please take another Phil class.

Worst class I have ever taken. Terrible teaching and testing style and the things he says make me cringe inside. Sure he will try and encourage you to argue with him, but if you do he will shut you down so fast in front of the class and make you feel like a fool. Trust me, take another Phil class..the "easy" grade is not worth it, trust me.

not a good class at all, I learned hardly anything about philosophy OR democracy. Most of class is pointless ramblings about his conservative stance on a matter of issues. really a complete waste of time that will leave you feeling angry at the ludicrous statements he makes.I am 90% sure you won't like this class unless you are tea party republican

I took professor Dennehy 4 times including a directive studio where I wrote a 30 page research paper. I never found his classes to be boring, but rather quite interesting. I guess it depends on who you are. I would definitely say take professor Dennehy. He gives you a prospective on things that your typical USF teacher won't!

He's a nice enough guy, however his class can be dry. He's extremely conservative, but is always willing to listen to other opinions. He's old as hell, on tenure, and therefore doesn't really care about grading (easy if you read the books). This class was not as philosophical as I hoped. Some pros, plenty of cons, but tolerable.

Attendance is mandatory. Class is extremely easy. You can get an A for an incredibly small amount of effort. Show up, don't fiddle with your phone. And you will do fine.

His class is boring but not really hard. Whatever he says in class is not really relevent at all to what he should be teaching. Basically all u do it read and take the test. Make sure u write a lot of details on the test you will get a better grade if do. I feel like he just grades randomly and marks points off for whatever he feels. Beware the reading is so boring!! And his book is annoying to read.

Nice man, funny stories keep you entertained. You will basically hear the same thing every class. The tests are straightforward and he's an easy grader. EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE and likes to start class debates.

Very nice old man. At first he seemed tough minded about things, but I learned to appreciate his ways. He DOES NOT like it when you play with your phone or do any other stuff while he is talking. Basically, just sit there and participate and life should be easy.

Great guy, funny as hell. Looks intimidating but he's actually very nice. Don't be afraid to speak up in class, he really appreciates it. If not he gets bored and starts to sing. Read all the required materials but do not be overwhelmed by the details! In tests you don't have to be brilliant, he grades on your knowledge and understanding.

Took problems in democracy- I thought it was going to be something completely different, being a politics major. It's easy in that you don't have work, but I'd rather do work in a class that was engaging than just sit and be mindlessly bored for two hours. take another core for phil if you like engaging classes.

Very intelligent professor, knows his stuff. Talks about Moral Problems in society such as Gays and Lesbians and his personal favorite Abortion. So, if you do not want to hear about such problems in society take another class. His exams are always three questions (3 essays). Furthermore, if you want to obtain good morals take him, its worth it.

Not my favorite teacher. Has a very conservative bias, and although he does present opposing sides to his arguments, he does so poorly and half heartedly. I didn't like his teaching, grading, or testing style. Mr. Dennehy was a touch egotistical-he makes you read his book, and then tests you on each chapter. Nice guy though.

A very intelligent man. He definitely knows his stuff and will really make you think. Class participation is not required, but he loves it when you do. Don't expect him to EVER know your name, though. His tests are easy, as long as you read. He lets you go early and doesn't take attendance all the time. Take him; you'll learn A LOT.

ethics was tolerable bc at least you could bs the tests w/o reading. but in this class you have to read 2 horrible books and are tested on minute details. i read both books but still did poorly! felt like i wasted my life in that class. basically a repeat of all the jokes and anecdotes from ethics! would not recommend esp if u took him for ethics!!

Really easy class- I got an A and did all the reading and reviewing the weekends before the midterm, quiz, and final. At first you get paranoid as to if you've studied enough, but he really is an easy grader. Take him if you don't like having a set schedule, because you never have any homework, just readings for tests.
