Professor Kieburtz has been an awesome teacher. He is always willing to answer questions about the material and is genuinely interested in helping his students do the best they can. His tests are fairly straightforward if you do the homework and have studied. Sadly he's retiring this year.

This professor will make you work for your grade. His tests exceed the study guides from class and be prepared to do HEAVY math/chem problems. The online homework didn't always help with knowing how to answer his test questions.

Kieburtz is a very nice professor. Don't let him fool you, his exams are rather difficult. Some questions are above and beyond what becomes familiar in this course. I'm a very good student who pulls off high grades without much studying; I can't believe there came a class who made me work so hard for a good grade. me 0 Kieburtz 1.01.

His tests are hard, but he gives practice exams that helps prepare you. Be aware though, the actual test is much harder. He explains things very well and is very helpful, but he does not accept late work and expects lots of work from the students. Very little time to finish the HW, it's due the day after it is covered in class.Be prepared to study!

I had Mr Kieburtz for the full gen chem series, 140-160. He is a great professor. He is clear, concise, and puts thing in context. I agree with other reviewers that his tests can be brutal... very long and math-intense. But in order to truly gauge your understanding of such a complex subject, they kind of need to be. I think he has realized how lon

Gives very clear presentations. Overall not a bad teacher, but his exams are out of control. Earlier this quarter he gave a 50 problem exam to be completed in 50 minutes. Several exams I could not complete, but knew all of the material. I'd reccomend avoiding him unless you are really quick with chem calculations.

Comment:
Mr. Kieburtz likes to make his tests/quizzes challenging; He throws in questions with unexpected twists and grades harshly. Overall, if you read the material, attend class, and study for the tests/quizzes, they shouldn't be too difficult. His lectures tend to be on the boring side, but he tries to answer all questions related to the class.

test questions often harder than homework questions. takes plenty of questions in class and answers them well. explains concepts better than book. gives credit for any effort on tests and homework. be sure to show all work you do, though. overall good prof.

Excellent teacher. He's a fair grader and very good at adapting teaching style to people's learning styles. He responds best to people who have already made an effort on their own and is very good at detecting BS, which I like because it doesn't allow slackers to slow down everyone else's progress. Very professional and a wealth of information.

Very assuming and unclear. Expected students to know quite a bit of chemistry already when it was an introductory class.
